If You Are A Christian, There Is Fire In Your Future!

There is a fire in the future of every man, woman and child in the church.  Paul wrote that every man’s work will be tried by fire in the day of God’s judgment.  He said your work will be one of two kinds of material:  wood, hay and stubble; or gold, silver and precious stones.  Wood hay and stubble are burned up by fire instantly.  Gold, silver and precious stones only become more valuable in the fire.  When we stand before God in the Day of Judgment this is the judgment seat of Christ for the righteous, God will take your works and your motives, and He will put the fire of His righteousness on it.  If you serve God with a pure motive, it will withstand the fire, as gold, silver and precious stones.  But if you serve God out of your own vainglory, it will go up in smoke like wood, hay and stubble.

Are you bowing before the gods of this world?  There’s a fire in your future.  It’s called the lake of fire.  It’s for ever and ever.  It’s the fire that’s never quenched, the place of torment according to Luke 16.  It is the place of remembrance; it is the place of recognizance.  You’ll know who you are, you’ll know where you are, and it will be forever and forever and forever.  There’s no escape.

So there’s a fire in your future.  If you’re saved, it’s at the judgment bar of God, and the fire will test your works.  If you’ve rejected Christ, it’s the fire of eternal torment, the fire that nobody can put out!
