For a long time I stared at this verse without understanding thanks heaven for the Contemporary English Bible.

A lot of young people are in dilemma over their lives, because they are held down by doubts, fears and guilt. Many destinies are washed away by the clever manipulation of the evil master so that we are not aware of the glorious strength that we have. The glory of the youth lies in our strength, even John recognizes this as the reason to defeat the evil one.

Many people aged 15-25, don’t seem to know which way they want their life to go. Today’s youth are some of the most stressed, depressed, and un-driven people in recent history. This is no fault as they have been whispered the lies of the evil one. However, we have been made to know that victory is ours.

It is important that every Christian youth should remember the status and benefits he has in Jesus Christ, for this is their defense against error and against sin. Our strength enables us to win every of our personal battles with the Evil One. Financial battles, Academic battles, Physical battles, battles against self, and others have all been conquered.

Every Christian youth must eliminate their defeatist mindset and be set to win battle against the evil one, no more feeling like a runner who is so convinced he’s going to lose the race that he doesn’t even bother to go to the starting line, we must all be prepared to win the race before the whistle is blown.

Being a believer doesn’t mean you should give up….
