Our God is a Consuming Fire by John Hagee

And he reared up an alter for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger all the kings of Israel that were before him.

Our God is a Consuming Fire by John Hagee
1 Kings 16:30-33—And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him. And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. And he reared up an alter for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger all the kings of Israel that were before him.

The word “pagan” describes a nation or person that does not recognize the God of the Bible!
Our God is a consuming fire.  He talked to Moses in a burning bush.  He walked in the fiery furnace with the three Hebrew children.  He baptized 120 in the Upper Room with tongues of fire.  The book of Revelation says he will chain Satan and his angels in the lake of fire forever.
Fire is a symbol of judgment.  God is the judge of all of the earth.  Secular humanism says that this life is all there is—that once you end this life, you step into infinity and you’re atomized; there is no tomorrow.  But the Bible says that it is appointed unto man once to die, and after that comes the judgment Hebrews 9:27.

Jezebel is referred to in scripture as “that hated woman.”  People only hate and fear people who have raw power and use that power to control their lives.  Jezebel used her husband’s office to control or kill anyone who resisted her.  She became the government—Israel did not elect her.  But they suffered greatly under her cruel domination.

Look at the wicked kingdom of Ahab and Jezebel, who caused Israel to worship pagan gods.  In a showdown between Elijah, God’s prophet to this wicked kingdom and the prophets of Baal, Elijah called down fire from heaven and then killed the prophets.

There will come a day when you, like Jezebel, will stand before God and give an account for every thought, for every word, for every deed.  You’re not going to be judged by the secular humanists.  You’re going to be judged according to the dictates of the word of God.  Are you an Elijah or a Jezebel?
