The Only Logical Answer You Can Give For The Insanity In This Nation Is That God Is Allowing America To Suffer Because Of Our Immorality And Our Spiritual Stupidity!
America has rejected God. We are now in open rebellion against the Lord. We have embraced every element of Baal worship.
You say, “Preacher, you’ve got to be more tolerant in this politically correct generation.” I’m going to take my lead from Elijah, and he was not what you would call politically correct. Jezebel hired 450 prophets of Baal to be her personal spiritual guides. The false prophets of the National Council of Churches came to Elijah and said, “You need to be more tolerant of this new theology. This is a pluralistic society.”
So Elijah invited them all to Mt. Carmel for a pastor’s conference and challenged their ministry. Elijah said, “Let the god that answers by fire, let him be God.” The prophets of Baal got no response from their gods. They screamed, and they cut themselves, and they rolled around on the ground. And Elijah didn’t sit there piously, he mocked them. He mad fun of them. He said, “Scream louder, pagans. Your god must be deaf! Or maybe he’s on vacation.” Finally they were exhausted and were able to do nothing. Elijah poured twelve barrels of water on his sacrifice, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel and he prayed. Then a blazing ball of crimson fire fell from the blue sky. It licked up the water, it licked up the sacrifice, it atomized the stones and then Elijah took his sword and hacked those 450 false prophets to death. So much for tolerance!
We are a nation that has lost our direction because we have abandoned the God of our fathers. We are a pagan nation in every way. If Jezebel was guilty, America is guilty. And if this nation is to become a nation under God, then the church must arise to a new level of righteousness.
