Words Cannot Only Hurt You, Words Can Kill You! by John Hagee

The fact is, those who love the fruit of the tongue will eat it. That means you cannot sow wild oats and then pray for crop failure.

Words Cannot Only Hurt You, Words Can Kill You! by John Hagee
Proverbs 18:21—Death and life are in the power of the tongue:  and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Words Cannot Only Hurt You, Words Can Kill You!

It was a fool who said, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”
Notice the extremities in Proverbs 18:21:  Life and death…nothing in between.  Nothing neutral comes out of your mouth.  Life or death.

The fact is, those who love the fruit of the tongue will eat it.  That means you cannot sow wild oats and then pray for crop failure.  By God’s command you will reap what you sow.   That’s God’s law.  If you plant bitterness, you’re going to reap bitterness.  That’s God’s law.  If you plant criticism, that’s what you’ll reap.  If you are a talebearer, you yourself will be the object of talebearing all the days of your life.  Those who gossip to you will also gossip about you.

My father said the reason a dog is man’s best friend is because he wags his tail instead of his tongue!
