To be stable is to be emotionally balance. In life, God did not promise us a smooth journey but he thus promise to stay with us both in the good times and the bad times.

Having this assurance as He has said in his word that When you pass through the waters,He will be with you;and when you pass through the rivers,they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire,you will not be burned;the flames will not set you ablaze( Isaiah 43 vs 2)

The psalmist says when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. This is a bold confession of a man who is stable through the stormy times.
