Petitioning God for prosperity by Jerry Savelle
It is disheartening to be  living below your privileges as a child of God, but you can get ready to receive some marvelous revelations that will bring you out of being abased and move you into abounding. Prosperity is what everybody craves for, either in business, marriage, relationship, career, education even in working for God but devil always roaring around to hold of people of God. So what is need to be done is to petitioning God so that prosperity will manifest in our lives.

Prayer is a powerful weapon against the true adversaries of God’s people: principalities, powers, dark rulers and spiritual wickedness in high places. These forces are the perpetrators of all kinds of evil.

Open Heavens: Favour From A Distance by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Memorise:
And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Isaiah 60:3

Read: Exodus 3:1-4
1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

Message
When your day of favour dawns, favour will locate you wherever you are. Sometime ago, we went to hold a crusade in Italy. While we were preaching, the message was being aired over the radio. Suddenly, the Lord said that there was a man listening to me via the radio who was impotent. The Lord asked me to tell the fellow that his virility was restored. Meanwhile, the man in question was lying on his bed in his house, far away from where we were. As soon as he heard the word, his manhood was restored. Favour located him at home.

By the time he tried to locate us at the crusade ground, we had closed and left for the hotel where we were staying. When he got to the hotel, he burst into our room saying he was the one whose case was addressed, and that he had received his miracle. This season, favour will locate you right where you are. Right in your home, in your living room, on your bed, favour will visit you in Jesus' Name.

Favour can always locate you, even from a distance. After Moses had spent about forty years in exile in Midian, God sent favour to locate him at the backside of the desert, in the form of an angel manifested as a burning bush which was not consumed. I also have experienced God's favour in a foreign land. The first time I travelled outside Africa, I went to Canada for the World Conference of Applied Mathematicians. I knew no one there and had no idea what kind of food I would be eating there. Meanwhile, my wife was at home praying that God should take care of me. At about that same time, someone was looking through the list of mathematicians who had come for the conference.

As he checked, he saw my name, Enoch Adeboye. He mused that it could be a French name, even though he had every reason to believe it is a Nigerian name. He decided to check up on me. On his way to my hotel room, this man resolved to speak to me in Yoruba language; he said to himself that if I replied, then I must be a Nigerian. He eventually got to my door and knocked. "Who is it?" I asked.

"Emi ni (I am the one)" he replied. "Wole (come in)", I responded. Before that day was over, I was eating pounded yam right there in Canada. Favour can locate you outside the shores of your land. God can use somebody you do not know to favour you. Are you away from home right now and in need of favour? God will cause favour to locate you! Someone you do not know will favour you today in Jesus' Name.

Prayer Point:
Father, let Your favour locate me today from the four corners of the earth.

A Challenge From God
Overlay Genesis 1:1-8 & John 1:1-8 and see if you can see that in the Spirit that these are perfect "companion verses"....

This is a VERY challenging task and it must be given to you...so don't be too frustrated if you can't make connections on some of these. Just let this be a longer term project as you continue to READ and DO the will of your Father which is in Heaven:

1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. ((1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.))

1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. ((1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.))

1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. ((1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.))

1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. ((1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.))

1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. ((1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.))

1:6 ¶ And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. ((1:6 ¶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.))

1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. ((1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.))

1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. ((1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.))

Message
When God says He will do a thing, He is telling you what He has already done in the realm of the Spirit. It is already a settled matter. If He says He will give you peace, it means that peace is already released to you. Every good promise that God has made to you shall become reality shortly in Jesus' Name. When Jesus made this promise in Matthew 16:18:

"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

He was simply saying something He had already done. He was telling Peter what He had already finished, long before Peter was born. Luke 1:33 declares that there is no end to the increase of God's kingdom. This means that whether the devil and the world like it or not, the Church will keep marching on. It also means that even when you do not know how to access the funds you need to build that local assembly to the glory of God's Name, God knows. He has already provided for all the churches that would be built in His Name, even before the foundation of the world was laid. This is why I know that you will not be stranded or frustrated over the assignment of enlarging God's kingdom on earth. God's provision for your assignment shall be evident this season in Jesus' Name.

Moreover, it is important to note that since God has set out to build His church, if you cooperate with Him, He can use you to build His kingdom. Building His church is God's agenda. God is looking for those who will cooperate with Him to establish His agenda of building His church. Are you willing to partner with Him? Long ago, God decided that He would take a general from the Syrian army and turn him into a worshipper of Jehovah (2 Kings 5:1-19). In today's setting, it is like saying God wants to take the Sultan of Sokoto (the traditional head of Muslims in Nigeria) and turn him into an evangelist or a pastor. Some people will say this is impossible, but with God nothing shall be impossible (Luke 1:37).

Once He has set out His plan, and His Word has gone forth, He will do it. To get Naaman to become a worshipper of the Living God, the Lord needed someone to cooperate with Him. It was a housemaid in Naaman's household who told her mistress that there was a prophet in Israel who could cure her husband's leprosy. Like this handmaid, are you ready to cooperate with the Lord in building His church?

Benefits of Humility

This entry was posted on December 17, 2011 by Family Christian.

You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.    Psalm 18:27

Humility is the doorway to God’s salvation. It is an entrance into an exciting life with the Lord. God saves the humble, but brings low the haughty. He lifts up the humble in heart, and brings down the haughty. A haughty look may be masked for a while but eventually it comes out. The face is a direct reflection of the heart. Our countenance can be hard and uninviting or it can be soft and accepting.
The haughty find it hard to take responsibility for their ill will and anger. They blame others while becoming victims of their own pride. Haughty eyes have blurred the vision of God and shies away from serving people. It is all about “what’s in it for me?” It stiff-arms our Savior. The eyes of the haughty are cold, callous, and distant. The haughty are consumed with themselves and have but a faint remembrance of Christ. They don’t remember what they wish to forget. Haughtiness forgets humility. However, this comes back to haunt the haughty.

Humility, on the other hand, woos the blessings of God. It has bountiful benefits. God’s presence permeates an environment of humility. It is an atmosphere of humility that engages the Almighty. The Lord looks out for the family members or work associates who value humility. He saves them from unwise decision-making and irresponsible living. He saves them from themselves.

Humility also encourages honesty. It encourages honesty about our dreams and disappointments. It recognizes the tremendous need for God to consummate the vision, and as we depend on God, we see Him work. Humility also learns how to process disappointments. There is an acknowledgement of anger and the need for healing. God saves the humble from bitterness and replaces it with brokenness.

Humility benefits relationships. It is a lubricant for love and the fuel of forgiveness. A humble heart helps husbands and wives learn how to complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses. It cultivates appreciation of each other’s differences and spurns  irritation. It checks our conversations before we position ourselves for a win/lose dialogue. Humility first understands and then seeks to be understood. Humility is a prerequisite for relational success. It deflates pride and inflates patience. Humility is quick to honor and slow to blame. It keeps us in the good graces of God and people.

Run from false humility formed out of fear, deception, and pride. Instead, cultivate authentic humility through prayer, honesty, and community. Surrender daily to your Savior with a sense of overwhelming dependence on Him. We are to submit on our knees so He doesn’t have to bring us to our knees. Humility is conceived in an honest heart—one that understands its limitations. It is comfortable with its strengths and its weaknesses, and not afraid to speak up and show its emotions.

Humility is best harnessed among a Christ-centered community. Let people you respect into your life. Otherwise, “a companion of fools suffers harm” (Proverbs 13:20b). Haughtiness is hurtful. Humility is beneficial, so sign up for its benefits. The Bible says, “You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low” (2 Samuel 22:28).

Open Heavens: Response To Discouragement by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Memorise:
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:9

Read: 1 Samuel 30:3-8
3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

Bible in a year
Nehemiah 1-3
John 6:52-71

Message
David's response to the distress he was confronted with, after his family and those of his men were taken captive, should serve as an example of what our response should be in the face of discouragement. The Bible in 1 Samuel 30:8 says:

"And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all."
Whenever you experience a loss, you need to go back to God to find out if it is possible to recover what was lost, and how such recovery would be achieved. Do not take it for granted that every loss must be recovered. Sometimes, when the Lord calls home a loved one who is very ill and going through excruciating pain, there might be no need for Him to return such a fellow back to life, except of course if He wants to heal such a fellow. Also, if a blessing is already becoming a curse or something else, it may be preferable for such a blessing to go for the greater good. Have you taken time to ask God about His will concerning your losses? Have you also asked how such losses can be recovered?

We can see from today's Bible reading that people respond to discouragement in different ways. Some people do not mind going to any extreme when they are discouraged. At the point of discouragement, David's men suddenly blamed the same leader who had been protecting them. They began to see their helper as the source of their loss. They began to speak against him and even planned to stone him to death! This shows the destructive power of discouragement. How do you handle situations when you are discouraged? Do you turn your helpers into enemies? There are some believers including ministers, who at the height of discouragement deliberately step out of righteousness and return temporarily to the sinful lifestyle they abandoned several years ago. This type of response is wrong. When faced with discouragement, encourage yourself in the Lord.
Study God's word to receive a word of encouragement and direction. Pray to God, praise and thank Him for all past blessings and worship Him. Doing these may be difficult, but ask for grace to do so. Seek counselling from godly people. Also, ask yourself: what does Satan want me to do in this situation? Ensure you don't act according to his expectation.

Key Point:
Discouragement is an arrow that must be returned to its source with haste.

Esau's Birthright

Written by Moses* in Genesis 25:19-34

The greatest awful transaction in the Bible where Esau traded his glories for portion of porridge. May we never encounter or enter into contract that will rob us of our glory. Amen!

These are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham fathered Isaac, and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, to be his wife. And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived. The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. And the Lord said to her,

“Two nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you shall be divided;
the one shall be stronger than the other,
the older shall serve the younger.”

When her days to give birth were completed, behold, there were twins in her womb. The first came out red, all his body like a hairy cloak, so they called his name Esau. Afterward his brother came out with his hand holding Esau's heel, so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.

When the boys grew up, Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents. Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.) Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

Thou shalt not steal.

Read: Genesis 49:3-4
3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

Message
One commandment that God gave to the children of Israel in the wilderness, which is still very relevant to us today, is the commandment not to steal (Exodus 20:15). Stealing can occur physically, in the realm of the soul and spiritually. Physical stealing can further be classified as stealing from man and stealing from God (Malachi 3:8). To steal is to take another person's property without their consent or approval, particularly with the intention of not returning it. As a growing child, teenager or youth, if you take your parent's money without their consent, you are a thief.

Some youths will say "Whatever belongs to my father belongs to me. I should be free to take any of his things whenever I like." No sir! Your parents have plans for all that they have. Taking their things without their approval can destabilise some of those plans. It can also inflict pain, sorrow and untold hardship on your parents. A child who is well brought up will ask his or her parents for what they want and give them the opportunity to approve or deny the request. The right rule to live by is: anything your parents are not ready to give you must not be taken. If you take it, you are a thief and not better than any robber out there.

Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, slept with Bilhah his father's concubine on his father's bed (Genesis 35:22). According to their tradition, after his father's death, he could have inherited her as the firstborn, but he could not wait for his time. Jacob kept quiet about this when he heard it. Reuben did not realise that Jacob knew, and he did not restitute. Eventually, when it was time to receive the generational blessing, Reuben was cursed and his destiny was thwarted (Genesis 49:3-4). A curse awaits children who steal from their parents. Zechariah 5:3 says:

"Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it."

Even the prodigal son knew well enough to ask for his share of his father's property before spending it (Luke 15:12). Today, some children either neglect their parents or fast-track their death so that they can have faster access to their wealth. Doing such is murder and robbery! No doubt, the blessing will surely turn into a curse. Children, as long as you live with your parents, totally submit to them like Jesus did. Never take anything that belongs to them without their willing consent. Also, do not threaten them to accede your request.

Action Point:
Return all that you have taken without the consent of the rightful owners from today.

Redeeming the Time - Bro. Gbile Akanni
Every minutes of our life is precious even Ephesians 5:15-16 says "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." Are you using your TIME, the most valuable asset wisely?

Even as you reading this text, some minutes of your most valuable assets is slipping away. This (Time) asset is shared equally by billionaires and paupers alike. And once it is lost, it is impossible to regain. This priceless asset is time! Time is a great asset, especially for those living at the end of the age striving to qualify to rule with Jesus Christ.

We need to rescue from loss the time that remains in our life. We can only redeem today and plan to redeem tomorrow, for yesterday is gone! We alone are responsible for using what God has given to each of us—time—to prepare for our spiritual vocation. Be attentively to Bro Gbile Akanni as teaches on Redeeming The Time. Be blessed as you watch.
