Christians must be able to see God when other inflict pains on us, and that we will be able to forgo bitterness. “See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble and many become defiled”. Sometimes evil itself can be part of God’s plan for fulfillment of our destiny. Although,feelings of grudges or betrayal against the culprit(s) is normal but the fact is that God is greater than the evil that friends and families do to us.
Analysis shown that if all that we see the devil in the evil done against us, we will be led to despair. But, Luther reminds that, God is aware of atrocities committed against us by others but we will be able to see that God has a plan for us, and can use evil for His purposes and yes, for our good! In reference to case study of Joseph. Joseph therefore felt free to forgive his brothers and he even proved his forgiveness by taking care of them!
