Miracles come in cans. They begin when we say, “I can!”
Our attitudes determine our attainments. A supermarket is a building filled with cans. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could buy a sixteenounce can of peace? Or love? Or happiness? Well, we can. Miracles begin when we say, “I can.”
I can climb this mountain and whip the giant at the top. I can lose weight. I can be a better marriage partner. I can quit smoking. I can live beyond my limitations. I can—because “everything is possible for him who believes” Mark 9:23.
Stop saying:
“I haven’t got it.” You do have it. You’re just afraid to use it.
“I’m a loser.” You’re not a loser. You’re a winner with a sorry attitude.
“I’m not educated enough.” So what? I’ve graduated from three universities, and I can tell you that some of the dumbest people on earth are hiding out there.
“I don’t know the right people.” Do you know God? He’s rather influential on this planet!
“I’m handicapped.” Helen Keller was blind, deaf and dumb, yet she graduated from college with honors.
“I’ve tried and failed.” Moses tried to deliver the Hebrews from the iron grip of Egypt’s bondage. He failed and fled to the backside of the wilderness for forty years. Then God called him to return to the scene of his failure and command Pharaoh to let His people go. Ten plagues later, Moses led his brethren out of the chains of slavery into the milk and honey of the land of promise. He tried. He failed. But he was willing to try again.
Our attitudes don’t have to be permanent. We can change our attitudes, just as soon as we’re willing to. Our attitudes will determine the quality of relationships we will have with our wives, our husbands, our children, and our bosses—and especially with God Himself.
