My children called by my purpose have become like race horses. Excited before the race, heart pounding with anticipation. Bursting forth from the starting gate with stars in their eyes.
But as the sprint turned into a marathon, some have fallen away. Enthusiasm replaced by wariness, Joy replaced by fear. For god hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I hear the Lord say, “Get up, go again, try again; you are closer than you think.” Your breakthrough is just around the corner.
And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation (Romans 5:4). Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth (Revelation 3:10). We want each of you to show the same diligence to the very end so that what you hope for may be fully realized (Hebrews 6:11). Stand firm until the end, don’t give up!
The prize does not always go to the fastest runner. You have found favor with the Father. I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Do you want chance, happenstance or numbers; or do you want a firm foundation in Christ? He is not the fastest way, but he is the surest way. Are you on the fast track to nowhere, or have you planted your feet upon the rock. Able to weather any storm and carry battle gear for miles at a time.
This season is for warriors with patience, long-suffering, endurance and steadfastness. Those, that if they fall down get back up again. The righteous fall seven times, but they get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked (Proverbs 24:16). I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me— The task of testifying to the good news of God‘s grace (Acts 20:23-24). Come and set the prisoners free, by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony. Can’t you see, you are them, and they are you....And they all said, “Let Blind Eyes See!”...
