Let Your Roots Grow by Tammy Lang Jensen
You have been given crystal clear audience with the King. He has heard your request and petitions, and now he calls you up higher.

I saw an angel with the oil of truth, ready to pour into all who asked. Then I heard the Lord say, “Let your roots grow down deep and spread out.” Let your roots grow down into him and let your lives be built on him.

Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:7). They are like trees planted along the riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit (Jeremiah 17:8). Is your fruit on display for all to see, or have you hidden it under a basket. The Lord says, “Let your light shine so it gives light to all in the household.”

Where the light of truth shines, darkness must flee. And where the name of Jesus rings and re-sounds, the enemy cannot stand. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). The resisting comes in the day after day rebuke. Freedom fighters did not war on the front lines one day, and then just give up. Many of the freedoms we live in now were won by fearless, tireless, brave, courageous, relentless men and women who fought for days, months, and years without giving up.

God is looking for people who understand the long haul and long-suffering. And since we are his children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering (Romans 8:17). But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience, and steadfastness (2 Timothy 3:10). I am asking you to walk the hard way with me.

Through the barren place searching for streams of water. And I call on you today, consider the cost. Woe unto the man that runs to me later and says, “Master, Master, the task is too hard!” If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to pay, for the Lord your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin (Deuteronomy 23:21). But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes”be yes and your “no”be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation (James 5:12).

Of any gift that could be given, the ability to rule over the words from our mouth with power and Percision; would be the greatest of all. Set a guard over my mouth Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips (Psalm 141:3). Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21). So again I say, “ What fruit is on display?” If you boast, boast in the Lord. But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak(1 Corinthians 8:9). Make sure you are laid down, and Christ is risen up!....
