Our Hope Is Not In The Government. Our Hope Is In The God That Answers By Fire. Our Hope Is Not In Politicians. Our Hope Is In The Prince Of Peace. My Hope Is Not In The Lottery. My Hope Is In The Lord Jesus Christ!
In Revelation 2:5 Jesus says to the church, “repent, or else.” The last word of Jesus Christ to the church was not the great commission. It was “repent, or else.” Our morals are at an alltime low. Why? Because, as Paul says, “We have a form of godliness, but we deny the power thereof” 2 Timothy 3:5. We have hype without holiness. We have ceremony that does not produce change. We have ritual without repentance.
Revival means selfexamination. It means repentance from sin. It means restitution for wrongs. It means submission to the lordship of Jesus Christ. It means separation from the world. It means being filled with the Spirit.
I always get mail that says something like this: “You’re too extreme. If we set the standards for the church too high, it’ll frighten some people away.” Yes, it will. But everybody’s not going to heaven; some are going to hell. I want you to know who’s going where. I don’t want you to wake up on judgment day and say, “You know, if he had said that a little clearer, I might have got it.” I imagine that when Ananias and Sapphira dropped dead in church, attendance fell off. The upper crust, where all the flakes hang together, decided to relocate. But the fire of God fell on those who remained, and they turned the world upside down.
