I saw an odd vision of the Lord this morning. He was sitting casually on a rock, and with one finger picked up a huge powerlifting barbell.
He was doing curls with the massive weight with one finger. The Lord said,”What you perceive as difficult, is nothing for me.” I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I flung the stars into existence, is anything too hard for me?
Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand? (Job 26:14).
All power and wisdom and knowledge belongs to God. Who can fathom his thoughts toward you. Who can out run his outstretched arm. There are angels to the left of you and angels to the right. Yet you still struggle to understand. You fall under God’s infinite protection. Better than homeowners insurance or a well-paid bodyguard. The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). Lean on him, depend on him, give it all to him. If he cares for the sparrow, how much more will he care for you. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your father. But the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows (Matthew 10:29-31)....
“So do not fear”, how many times have I read this in the Bible. Yet on the day of battle, sometimes I struggle with fully believing it. Imagine a life where you feared nothing, what freedom that must hold. But isn’t that exactly the life Christ is offering us. A life free from fear of the past, present and future. Does the word not say,”Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed!” (John 8:36)....
So let’s declare it today, fear and pain fly away. Freedom, liberty and bravery come and stay. Let me be a brave soldier, with no fear of the past. Lord, refined me in your fire, so I can stand in the honor of today. That I might walk to the future with no fear of the pain and trauma of the past. Deliverance is the children’s bread, time that you partake. Have I not said, I prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies; I anoint your head with oil; your cup overflows (Psalm 23:5)....
Step into the Overflow....
Step into the Oil....
