The Prophetic Signs Of Jesus: The Living And Walking With God by Dr. Sony Edwin
Before you can work with God, you must be absolutely born-again. We are all born in iniquity, having a sinful nature inherited from Adam (Romans 5:12). We were all born spiritual dead, alienated from God.

Man's spirit from birth is dead; thus, he cannot fellowship with God. God is a Spirit, Holy and righteous. Sinful man cannot fellowship with a holy (morally perfect) God. This is why Jesus Christ was sent into the world, to bridge the unsurpassed gap between God and mankind. So Jesus, the man, mediates between man; and Jesus, almighty God (deity), mediates with God the Father. Jesus is our Mediator. 1st Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” So if you want to come to God, then you MUST come to Jesus, Who is the very manifestation of the Godhead to the world (Colossians 2:9; 1st Timothy 3:16; John 1:1-3,14).

In this trailer and sermon, Dr. Sony Edwin takes on a ride on one of the prophetic signs of Jesus. Be blessed as watch

Open Heavens: Tolerating Demons by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Memorise:
Neither give place to the devil.
Ephesians 4:27

Read:
Acts 16:16-18,

Bible in one year:
Exodus 4-5,
Romans 4

One of the signs affirming that you have received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour is the ability to cast out demons. This grace is not the exclusive preserve of a few Christians who are branded “deliverance ministers”; rather, it should be commonplace among all Christians (Mark 16:17-18).

However, you need to know that you cannot cast out demons while living in sin; they will expose your secret deeds. There is the story of a minister who attempted to cast out a demon from a fellow, and the demon spoke out saying: “Are you the one commanding me to go? You who committed fornication with so and so yesterday?” That was the end of that deliverance session. In practice, we don’t see a lot of believers in Christ casting out demons today. Why is this so? Are you afraid, or living in secret sin?

This should no be so. You should cast out demons whenever you perceive any operating around you. From today, you shall be a demon-chaser in Jesus’ Name. Wherever you go and find demons in operation, you should stamp your feet down in the Name of Jesus Christ and command them to take their leave. They will have no choice but to obey. If you need to support your faith, you can team up with one or two more believers and go out to preach the gospel, casting out the demons you find along the way, and they will obey you.

In our Bible reading, there was this young lady with the spirit of divination who appointed herself as the Public Relations Officer of Paul and his team, while at the same time working for her evil masters. She did this for a while, until Paul was grieved in the spirit and commanded the evil spirit to come out of her, and it did. From this account, you should learn that as long as you are ready to tolerate demons, they will continue to harass you.

The trouble you allow to stay with you may take you along with it. In some churches, spirits of divination are in operation and they are tolerated. In fact, some pastors don’t know the difference between a spirit of divination and the spirit of prophecy that comes from God. In such churches, the devil reigns, and he manipulates people freely. Many believers today are far from the place where God wants them to be, because the forces of darkness are fighting to hinder their joy, they throw up their hands in resignation to fate, expecting God to do something about it, but God expects them to command those forces working against them to loose their grip and take their leave in the Name of Jesus. Are you doing this today?

Action Point:
If you notice demonic manipulation in any area of your life, command the spirits responsible to loose their grip and take their leave in Jesus Name.

Rise Up and Walk by Pastor Sam Owusu
God is still in the miracle's business! You don’t need a break you need a breakthrough. You don’t need a raise you need to listen to the Lord and let God come though for you.

When we come to the end of our resources, when we feel the whole world is against us, Jesus is very near. For some of us today feel as if our purpose has been taken away. You see no purpose or reason to be. I want to tell you God can restore that joy in your life. God can take what is lost and renew it.

Pastor Sam Owusu teaches from Acts chapter 2 and talks on keys for experiencing miracles in your life

Open Heavens:Prayer Neutralizes Fear by Pastor E.A Adeboye

Memorise:
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrew 4:16

Read:
Luke 1:5-13,

Bible in one year:
Exodus 1-3,
Romans 3:9-31

Message:
Prayer unleashes great possibilities to anyone who is given to it. Looking at the experience of Zacharias in today’s Bible reading, we can see some of the things made possible through prayer. First, when you pray, you attract angelic visitations into your situation. In other words, prayer brings the supernatural into the natural. Any time you are tired of the ordinary, pray, and you will see the supernatural. Are you tired of seeing ordinary results? Pray, and you will soon receive results that are beyond your imagination.

In addition, when you pray, your fear is substitute with calmness. Prayer causes fear to dissipate, because it is linked with faith, just as fear is linked with unbelief. While intensive prayers were going on in the temple, Zacharias heard an angel say “Fear not”. When you hear “Fear not”, don’t jump up in excitement until you have found out the source of that command. For instance, if a man tells you not to be afraid, there may still be reasons to accommodate some elements of fear, because of man’s several limitations; but if God tells you not to be afraid, then you can rest assured there is nothing to fear.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrew 4:16

Are you afraid? Pray! As you engage the prayer gear, boldness will surge into you, and before long, fear would have disappeared. If you are constantly tormented by fear, it is an indication of the absence of an effective prayer life. If you pray often, you will always be looking up at the sunny side of life. You will be optimistic. You will have hope for the future and easily accept that your tomorrow will be alright. On the other hand, if you seldom pray, you will always see the bleak side of life. You will be easily discouraged. You will be full of fear, worry and anxiety. You will equally be filled with suspicion. With fear in your heart, it will almost be impossible to do what you should do, go where you should go and be all you were created to be. Fear paralyses, don’t give room to it.

Key Point
Prayerlessness ensnares the prayer-less fellow in the trap of fear. Only a fervent, vibrant and consistent prayer life can set him free.

Its Nothing But A Test by Bishop Noel Jones

We are posed to get what we expect out of life according by our faith and steadfast because we will pass through series of tests but our greatness will be released according by our steadfastness in Him that created  us.

The Book of Matthew 9:29 says "According to your faith it will be done unto you." What are you expecting God to do in your life? This is the law that God has established. It’s called the Law of Expectation and the fact we are Christians, we should expect test and trial that could lift us up in life.

We inevitably accomplish what we expect what we’re going to accomplish. This is the law of faith. God says you get to choose. Listen to Bishop Noel Jones as he teaches on the nothing but a test. Be blessed as you watch and listen.

PATHFINDER's PRAYER & PRAISES featuring the day's "Wonderful Word for the Whole World" In honour of our Lord and Saviour, Christ-Jesus, as I most humbly present the Serial Write-up tagged: "THE UNCHANGEABLE CHANGER" with the sub-titled Topic:

GIFT OF THE HOLY-SPIRIT (Part3) The Promise, its Pre-Fulfillment at the Upper room and the Great Assurance of His second coming. According to the book of (Acts 1 :4-11) which read thus: "And being assembled together with them. He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, "which,"

He said, " you have heard from Me: For John truly baptised with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, ANXIETY, IGNORANCE AND QUESTIONS FROM HIS DISCIPLES>saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom of Israel?" GIFT OF HOLY SPIRIT PROMISED> And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority...But you shall recieve power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you: BENEFITS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT and you shall be witnesses in me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, ONLY THE TWO PLACES?..NO.

And to the end of the earth." Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, BEHOLD!....THE ASCENSION OF CHRIST and a cloud received Him out of their sight. DIVINE WITNESS AND CONFIRMATION OF HIS SECOND COMING. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel....Who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."

To God be the glory IJMN as we eagerly look forward to His second coming as CHRIST-JESUS WILL DESCEND DOWN TO EARTH PHYSICALLY.....WATCHOUT AND BE PREPARED! .....JESUS.....IS.....LORD!.....Amen.......      #ChristIsComingBackSoon

Open Heavens: Under-Standing The Abrahamic Blessing by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Memorise:

Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it. Numbers 23:20

Read: Genesis 27:27-29,

Bible in one year:
Genesis 49-50,
Romans 2:12-3:8

When God called Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3, he instructed him to do certain things, while He promised to bless him in specific ways. One of the articles of this blessing in Genesis 12:3 was:
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

We can infer from this Scripture that when a man is operating under the blessing of Abraham, his friends will also be blessed, and his enemies will most likely be cursed. Thank God we have access to the blessing of Abraham through Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:14). When a man is blessed, his children are also blessed. The blessing of God on an individual can affect the genealogy of that fellow. Your generations can be blessed because of you. God did not just promise to bless Abraham, He actually fulfilled it. The testimony of Abraham’s servant in Genesis 24:34-35, clearly shows God’s faithfulness to Abraham. Every good promise the Lord has made to you shall be fulfilled in Jesus’ Name.

Now, how can we define blessing? There is a generic definition of blessing and a spiritual definition for it. When all of your needs are being met and you still have extra resources left, generically, you can be said to be blessed. In other words, you cannot be said to be blessed when you are living from hand to mouth or you are begging. To be considered as blessed, there must be an overflow of resources. David in Psalm 23:5 spoke of his cup running over. After you have had enough for yourself and your immediate family, and you still have surplus, generically, you can be said to be blessed. It is good to be healed from a sickness, but it is better to be healthy. You are considered blessed when, instead of just being healthy, the healing virtue flows through you. This shall be your portion in Jesus’ Name. On the other hand, the spiritual definition of being blessed is the attainment of a state in which all the forces on earth, in heaven and under the earth are summoned to come to the aid of a person in his or her bid to succeed or excel. This was exactly what happened to Jacob. Isaac commanded the heavens, the earth and all people to help Jacob succeed (Genesis 27:28-29).

In the Name Jesus, the dew of heaven will favour you, the earth will yield her fatness to you, people and nations will willingly serve you, and you shall remain head every where you go.

Prayer Point
Father, release the dew of heaven to me, grant me the fatness of the earth and let nations, situations and circumstances bow down to me.

Point of No Return by Dr D.K.Olukoya
Leaving a legacy behind is a footprints which every godly servants of God should hold in high esteem because what we do for ourselves die with us but what we did for others remains forever.

Open Heavens: When He Beckons To You by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Memorise:
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, if any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
John 7:37
Read: Exodus 3:3-4,

Bible in one year:

Genesis 47-48,
Romans 1:18-2:11

Message:

When a king beckons to you, it means you have caught his attention. In Esther 5:1-3, when King Ahasuerus saw Esther standing in the inner courts of the palace, he immediately raised his sceptre towards her. By so doing, he was inviting her to come nearer. When God beckons to you, you can be assured that things are definitely taking a new turn from that moment. This was the experience of Moses. For 40 years, Moses was at the back side of the desert looking after his father-in-law’s sheep; but one day, this well-read and once very promising heir to the throne of Egypt (now turned shepherd boy) encountered the burning bush which was not consumed. He heard God beckon to Him saying “Moses, Moses”. From that very moment, his story was never the same. God beckons to you when the day of your favour dawns.

There is a user of this devotional: you have invested so much time money in acquiring several degrees but you have not been able to use them. It appears God has forgotten you for some years, and you have been wondering when the opportunity will ever come for your certificates to work for you. Rejoice! Your time of favour has just dawned. God has just remembered you and is presently beckoning to you. Within the next three months, your life will go through a transformation, to the extent that it will be difficult for you to believe this is happening to you. When the Lord does this for you, do not forget to appreciate Him and testify of it.

In 1969, while doing my postgraduate programme in Mathematics, a friend of mine was doing his research on the coastlines of Lagos, and so he needed to visit all the coastlines and take samples from them. He decided to go to Ebute Metta, Lagos, for some samples. Because we were friends and I was available, I accompanied him. At Ebute Metta, we saw a very large signboard which read “The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)”. Looking to see what the big signboard was referring to, we only saw a very little church. I turned to my friend and said “The big name killed a small dog!

We laughed and left. Four years later, somebody invited me to the same RCCG for the first time, saying “There is a small church at Ebute Metta where God is performing miracles.” I told him I had seen that church before – the small church with the big signboard. Imagine what God is doing today after beckoning to me. May you heed God’s beckoning in Jesus’ Name.

Action Point
What you look down on today may be your saving grace tomorrow. Ask for divine guidance min all you do.

Breaking Invisible Barriers by Bishop David Abioye
It is very hard to have peace and joy when a person is in captivity.  If there is an absence of joy and an absence of praise, it is because of captivity. Have you ever felt as if there is some unseen powers working against your destiny?  Forces that prevent you from experiencing the divine breakthrough, healing, joy, prosperity and freedom.

It's a common saying that, 'Nothing good comes easy' and every great destiny naturally attracts great and stiff opposition. As a child of God, we have a great and glorious destiny in Christ, but not many of us will live to see it fulfilled. Why? Because there are satanic installations against the fulfillment of destiny as in 1 Cor 16 vs 9.

This invisible barrier is much more real than we think, so let us take a few minutes to consider what we can do to break through it as Bishop David Abioye preaches on 'Breaking Invisible Barriers'

The Unchangeable Changer
PATHFINDER'S PRAYER AND PRAISES  featuring the day's "Wonderful Word for the Whole World" In honour of our Lord and Saviour, Christ-Jesus! As I most humbly present the Serial Write-up tagged: "THE UNCHANGEABLE CHANGER "with the sub-titled Topic:

CHRIST-JESUS! The-same Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow and Forever. Christ-Jesus ascended back to heaven over 2000 + years ago, but He is still the-same Messiah the Christ as we check the book of {John 21 : 1- 13} read thus: "After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the sea of  Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself IN WHATEVER SITUATION YOU ARE NOT ALONE. CHRIST-JESUS!

A VERY STRONG PILLAR IN NEED AND DEED. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore: yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No" BEHOLD! THE MASTER WAS AND HE'S STILL AROUND, ALL CHRONIC PROBLEM MUST GIVE WAY TO THE SUPERIOR POWER....NOT EVEN PROBLEMS OF WANT COULD WITHSTAND JESUS' PRESENCE.

And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it because of the multitude of fish. BEHOLD! CHRIST-JESUS!...THE GREAT SHEPHERD OF ALL SEASON.

Jesus said to them, "Bring some  of the fish which you have just caught".....Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish. 153 and although there were so many the net was not broken.....CHRIST-JESUS ! THE MERCIFUL, MAGNANIMOUS, MARVELOUS MASTER THE MESSIAH OF ALL SEASON.

Jesus said to them, "Come and eat breakfast......" Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. Hail Christ-Jesus! The King of kings and the Royal Lord of lords, the Great Prince of Peace, Provider in abundance, Great Producer, Promoter and Protector that Repairs and Restores. ...JESUS....IS.....LORD! Amen.

Read: 1st Kings 17:2-6, Bible in one year: Genesis 45-46, Romans 1:1-17

Our God is awesome, and His ways are beyond finding out. Nobody can box God into a pattern or regimen. He can use anything He chooses to achieve His purpose on earth. God uses those who are lowly placed, and He also uses the rich. Luke 8:1-3 tells of  some wealthy women who ministered to Jesus from their resources. Mary Magdalene and other women blessed by the Lord resolved to serve Him with the resources they had.

Are you rich or wealthy? Do you serve the Lord with your substance? Experience has shown that those who have little are the ones who dare to give their all to God. This was the case with the widow who dropped her mites (Mark 12:41-44). Usually, the rich only give a fraction of what they have because they believe they are giving something big.

However, God does not judge the size, He judges by proportion. Hence, the poor can give more than the rich in the sight of God, even if what they give is not as much as what the rich have given in quantity. Justifying why the widow’s gift was more than what the rich gave, Jesus in Mark 12:44 said: “For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that  she had, even all her living.”

Moreover, not only can God use humans to accomplish His purpose, He can also use animals. In 1st Kings 17:2-6, God sent ravens to deliver food to His servants, and they obeyed. We have equally seen Him use birds too. When we began to build the Redemption Camp in those early years, there were some trees that provided shade which I instructed the workers to preserve. Some little birds came in their hundreds of thousands to perch on these trees.

Whenever they descended on them, there would be no leaves left on the trees the following day. They were also very noisy. I wondered if they were demonic birds. Some of my children who had guns would enter their midst and fire some shots; yet, they refused to go away. Some birds were hit by the fired bullets and dropped dead, but the rest stayed on. At some point, it appeared the more they were killed, the more they multiplied! The situation became unbearable. I therefore called on God to help us one morning. That evening, several eagles came and began to eat them up.

Within hours, there was not a single one of them left. God has not stopped using birds! If He needs to send birds to meet your needs, He will do so; but you need to show Him that you can serve Him with all He has given you. How faithfully have you served God? To what extent can you risk your life and all He has given to you for His service?

 Key Point
God can mobilise all of His resources to satisfy the needs of those who can give Him their all.

Tears of Frustration by Deborah W. Fry
I see your tears of frustration, Beloved. I see the crushing weight of the world system upon your shoulders. With problem upon problem, the enemy would attempt to crush you under the weight of it all and destroy your faith.

I am sending My Angels to strengthen you and uphold you. No matter what you are going through, I have made a way of escape for you, Dear One. Cast all your cares upon My strong Shoulders. No longer accept burdens and condemnation from the enemy. I say to you to shake them off and rise up and speak to the enemy at the gate. I have set your face like flint. Though the enemy fights against you, he will NOT overcome you, for I am with you to strengthen you and deliver you. The gates of hell SHALL NOT prevail against you. I am your Rock and My Everlasting Arms are your soft place to fall. Do not be afraid, My Child.

Though the enemy rises up against you one way, I will send him fleeing in seven! I give My angels charge over you, to keep you in all of your ways. You are My Beloved Warrior Bride, an overcomer, and carrier of My Glory upon this earth. Pursue the enemy, speak My Word and My Name, use your Sword of the Spirit, for you shall SURELY overtake him and WITHOUT FAIL, recover ALL

Jeremiah 1:17 Now, gird up your loins and arise, and speak to them all which I command you. Do not be dismayed before them... 18 "Now behold, I have made you today as a fortified city and as a pillar of iron and as walls of bronze against the whole land (of the enemy) 19 They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD.

Ezekiel 3:8 "Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces and your forehead as hard as their foreheads. 9 Like emery harder than flint I have made your forehead. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, they are a rebellious house."

Psalm 91:10 No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent. 11For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. 12They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone.

Psalm 103:20 Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!
Exodus 14:14 “Fear not. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show to you today; for the enemy whom you have seen today, you shall never see them again, you shall see them no more for ever."

1 Samuel 30:8 And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

The Complexity of Greatness: Beyond Talent or Practice
What is greatness and how do people get there?

What is greatness and how do people get there? Is greatness born or made? Is greatness the result of talent or practice? Few other questions have caused such intense debate, controversy, and diversity of opinions. The heights of human accomplishment have always fascinated us, and for good reason.

The striving for greatness is a fundamental human drive, and without it we would be bereft of some of our most valuable cultural products. How we conceptualize greatness and its developmental trajectory has important implications for education, business, and society— which makes it all the more important that we make an effort to understand all the many complex, nuanced factors contributing to its emergence.

Greatness eludes precise definition, and historically it has been approached in different ways. In ancient times, greatness had spiritual connotations, and geniuses were viewed as divine. Kant thought talent was an integral ingredient of the emergence of greatness, as geniuses use their natural talents to produce something original and exemplary (Kant, 1790/1952). According to Kant, since genius was inborn, it cannot be taught; it can only be imitated by inspired non-geniuses. The English dramatist John Dryden echoed Kant’s sentiment, declaring, “genius must be born, and never can be taught” (Dryden, 1693/1885, p. 60).

Since the beginning of this debate, both extremes have been represented. Sir Joshua Reynolds, an influential 18th century British painter, warned his students at the Royal Academy that
You must have no dependence on your genius. If you have great talents, industry will improve them; if you have but moderate abilities, industry will supply their deficiency. Nothing is denied to well directed labour; nothing is to be obtained without it. Not to enter into metaphysical discussions on the nature or essence of genius, I will venture to assert, that assiduity unabated by difficulty, and a dispo- sition eagerly directed to the object of its pursuit, will produce effects similar to those which some call the result of natural powers. (Reynolds, 1966, p. 37)

While it seemed everyone had an opinion, the topic started receiving scientific treatment with the publication of Francis Galton’s Hereditary Genius in 1869. Based on his analysis of eminent lineages, Galton, who was Charles Darwin’s cousin and was greatly influenced by Darwin’s ideas, argued that genius is primarily born. While Galton acknowledged the importance of passion, zeal, and persistence, he argued that regardless of environment, those with exemplary natural abilities inevitably rise to the top (Galton, 1874). This idea didn’t go unchallenged. Alphonse de Candolle (1873) showed evidence for the importance of environmental factors, finding that eminent scientists from Western civilization tended to do their best work under particular political, economic, social, cultural, and religious circumstances. However, while de Candolle’s results showed the importance of environmental conditions on the average population, his data did little to explain individual differences within a population.

The early behaviorists, including B. F. Skinner and John Watson, emphasized conditioning. No doubt biased by his particular theoretical position on learning and behavior, Watson made the following bold claim: Give me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in, and I’ll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select—a doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant-chief, and yes, even a beggar-man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations and race of his ancestors. I am going beyond my facts and I admit it, but so have the advocates of the contrary and they have been doing it for many thousands of years. (Watson, 1930, p. 82)

Regardless of the veracity of this bold assertion, at least Watson was honest that more data were needed on this topic! The advent of cognitive psychology brought an emphasis on expertise acquisition as the main factor underlying differences in elite performance. Nobel Prize laureate Herbert Simon and William Chase suggested that a decade of intense work and apprenticeship is required to become an expert in chess (Chase & Simon, 1973). This has become known as “the 10-year rule.” K. Anders Ericsson and his colleagues have extended this research in a number of domains, including medicine, professional writing, music, art, math, and sports (Ericsson, Charness, Feltovich, & Hoffman, 2006). Researchers operating under the expertise performance framework argue that greatness is largely the result of a large amount of domain-specific knowledge, acquired through many thousands of hours of deliberate practice where one is constantly striving to learn from feedback and push beyond his or her limits (Colvin, 2010; Coyle, 2009; Ericsson, Krampe, & Tesch-Römer, 1993; Syed, 2010).

While deliberate practice is certainly important, it’s unlikely to be the whole story. Even though the most cited and well-known philosophers and psychologists of all time were those who took extreme views on key debates of their time, including the nature–nurture debate, more moderate, integrative stances are more likely to be correct (Simonton, 1976, 2000a). In only the past quarter century, scientists across numerous fields—such as behavioral genetics, neuroscience, developmental psychology, personality psychology, and positive psychology— have amassed a large body of empirical findings that suggest the origins of greatness are far more complex than any single approach will capture (Marcus, 2012; Shenk, 2011; Kaufman, 2013). Things are often not what they seem.

Take the practice side of the debate. Many studies looking at experts suffer from a restricted range: Those without the requisite abilities have already been weeded out of the competition, so those skills will no longer be predictive of performance. What happens when you look at a random selection of the population? While deliberate practice may be an important contributor to expertise, is it also sufficient to carry just anyone all the way to greatness?

Recent research suggests it's not. David Z. Hambrick and colleagues found that deliberate practice explained about 30% of the variation in performance in the two most widely studied domains in expertise research-- chess and music (Hambrick et al., 2013). On the one hand, this is a very impressive amount of variation explained. Clearly, deliberate practice matters a lot, perhaps trumping any other single personal characteristic. But at the same time, most of the variation was left unexplained by other personal and environmental factors.

But if we dig even deeper, we can see more complications. What is the genetic contribution to the willingness to practice in the first place? While passion and persistence are certainly important for greatness, where do these characteristics come from (Cordova & Lepper, 1996; Duckworth, Peterson, Matthews, Michael, & Kelly, 2007; Ryan & Deci, 2000; Kaufman, 2009, Vallerand et al., 2003)? Behavioral geneticists have discovered that virtually all psychological dispositions have a heritable basis (Turkheimer, 2000). Therefore, motivation and the ability to persevere and persist in the face of obstacles are likely influenced (although not completely determined) by genetic factors, which are always interacting with environmental factors.

Another complication is that there seem to be notable exceptions to the 10-year rule (Simonton, 1994, 2009a). For one, there exist prodigies and savants who seem to display extraordinary ability, even at an expert level, well before the requisite 10 years (Feldman & Goldsmith, 1991; Feldman & Morelock, 2011; Rutsatz & Urbach, 2012; Subotnik, Olszewski-Kubilius, & Worrell, 2011; Treffert, 2011; Winner, 1997). In some cases, such as the savant who sits down at the piano and starts playing tunes, talent seems to emerge without any deliberate practice whatsoever!
What has become clear is that the 10-year rule is not actually a rule, but an average with significant variation around the mean. In fact, in some domains within the arts and sciences, those with the greatest lifetime productivity and highest levels of achieved eminence required the least amount of time to acquire the requisite expertise (Simonton, 1991a, 1991b, 1992, 1997, 1999). However, there are some fields, such as creative writing, where there doesn’t appear to be an early advantage to achieving greatness (Kaufman & Gentile, 2002), and if anything there may require on average an additional 10 years after professional-level expertise is acquired to achieve greatness (Kaufman & Kaufman, 2007). An even further complication is that too much expertise can be detrimental to greatness. Research shows that experts are at risk of becoming overly specialized and inflexible in their thinking (Frensch & Sternberg, 1992), although the disadvantages of over-training can be overcome by acquiring expertise across numerous, diverse domains (Simonton, 2000a).

Now consider the talent side of the debate. Many popular writers on this topic treat talent as if it means that some people are born with a skill, fully formed at birth. While psychologists acknowledge that many different traits such as IQ, creativity, talents, interests, and personality dimensions influence greatness, no sensible scientist claims that any of these traits are completely deterministic. Scientists will be the first to admit that no trait comes fully formed at birth, and there is plenty of variation unaccounted for to leave room for late bloomers and prodigies who burn out fast (Kaufman, 2008; Protzko & Kaufman, 2010). Also, no sensible scientist would argue that just because a trait has a genetic contribution, it is immutable. Something can have a very large heritability coefficient and still be very amenable to change. As it turns out, the way genes influence greatness is much more nuanced and fascinating.

For one, the many traits that make up greatness, such as creativity and leadership, don’t appear to operate in an additive manner, but appear to require the full configuration of many interacting genes for their manifestation (Simonton, 1999a; Lykken, 1982; Waller et al., 1993). Also, the pathway from genes to talent to greatness is often very nuanced and complex. Some of the most well-known behavioral geneticists recognize that it’s time to go beyond heritability estimates. A currently active area of research is the study of epigenetics, and how the many interacting genes that make up any trait are differentially activated depending on the environment (Johnson, 2007; Turkheimer, 2012; Johnson, Turkheimer, Gottesman, & Bouchard, 2009; Moore, 2003; Ridley, 2003).

Genes pull us subtly, and not so subtly, in various directions and influence our decisions. The “multiplier effect”—in which initially small, genetic advantages can compound into large, observed differences—can operate in a multitude of ways (Ceci, Barnett, & Kanaya, 2003). The environment can cause exaggerated differences, such as when children pick the taller kid for the basketball team in elementary school, but the slightly more talented and passionate musician can also make decisions throughout his or her life that compound into larger differences down the road.
Also, many seemingly environmental effects, such as parenting style, have turned out to have large genetic components. As one example, the direct influence of parenting has been shown to be overrated, as the apparent association between parental phenotype and offspring phenotype is often the result of shared parent–child geno- type rather than a direct effect of parenting causing their children’s behaviors (Harris, 1999; Pinker, 2003). Certainly parenting matters. Water still has an essential influence on fish, even if it doesn’t explain any of the differences between fish. It turns out that parenting is important for child development in ways different than originally assumed. Genes influence parenting because, like any other behavior, parenting behaviors are influenced by genes.

Parents play a crucial role in supporting the expression of genes, as do peers and teachers. The importance of environmental support is most striking in the context of disadvantaged homes, where genes account for substantially less variation in cognitive ability compared to socioeconomically advantaged homes (Tucker-Drob, Rhemtulia, Harden, Turkheimer, & Fask, 2010).

Further nuance is introduced when one looks across domains of greatness. Many different traits contribute to greatness, in differing degrees and combinations depending on the domain (Simonton, 2009b). Athletic greatness surely draws on a different set of skills, dispositions, and cognitive abilities than academic/scientific greatness. And both forms of greatness differ from what is required for artistic and performance/ entertainment-related greatness. Even within domains there are different skills and dispositions required. Think about the difference between poets and science writers— both are writers but seem to come from a different species sometimes!

The complexities don’t stop there. By definition, very few people reach excellence in a domain, and no two paths are exactly the same. Some people actually invent a whole new path of deliberate practice for others to follow! The fact that two people can obtain the same result through a very different route opens up a new can of questions. Do all domains require creativity for greatness? Can someone, such as the gold-medal winner of the 100-meter dash, be great simply by running faster than all other competitors that year? Likewise, some domains (such as mathematics) may demand more domain-specific talent, whereas for others (such as dart throwing), intense deliberate practice may play more of a role. Must all paths to greatness require extraordinary talent? Also, it can be tricky differentiating expert performance from great performance. What’s the dividing line? Is greatness reserved only for the gold-medal winner of the 100-meter dash, or is the runner-up great as well?

And that’s just talent and practice. What about the full range of life experiences and early developmental experiences— many of which are quite harsh and traumatic —that shapes drive and passion (Ludwig, 2003; Simonton, 2000b, 2009a, 2009b)? Where does inspiration come from (Thrash & Elliot, 2003)? What’s the influence of mindset, stress, and stereotype threat on cognition and performance (Aronson & Juarez, 2012; Beilock, 2011; Dweck, 2007)? What about so-called learning disabilities, mental illnesses, and all different kinds of minds—can’t they be an advantage (Grandin, 2010; Kaufman, 2013)? What about opportunities and just sheer luck (Gladwell, 2008)? How do all those factors contribute to greatness? Lots of questions. These are all thorny issues that must be dealt with when scientifically studying greatness.

The topic of greatness is one of the most fascinating in all of psychology and has relevance for every single human being on this planet. As it turns out, the truth is far more nuanced, complex, and fascinating than any one viewpoint or paradigm can possibly reveal. It’s time to go beyond talent or practice. Greatness is much, much more.

Which was the spirit behind my edited volume, The Complexity of Greatness: Beyond Talent or Practice, now available for purchase on Amazon. The volume doesn’t include all the answers, but at least points out the many complexities when scientifically investigating this topic. My aim in assembling the stellar list of contributors was to put together a well-balanced review of the latest research and thinking on greatness that could serve as a valuable resource, not just for scientists but for anyone who wants to get a broader, more complete understanding of greatness. Hopefully this volume also stimulates thought and leads to new, testable hypotheses and research programs.

The Choice to Prosper by Kenneth Copeland
What is the Biblical prosperity means? And what are the crucial steps you need to take to achieve all that God has for you. Prosperity means being successful in a state of good fortune specially financial success and have it in abundance.

But Christians prosperity is more than good fortune but it's a choice. God addressed the Israelite as He is talking to us now in Deut 30:15-30; "Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between prosperity and disaster, between life and death. You must choose whether you are going to live a prosperous life or a mediocre one, It's a decision you must make.

What great teaching from Kenneth Copeland about leaving a well balanced and satisfying life. He charges us on which resources we draw upon to complete the things God has called us to do? Find out from this sermon. Be blessed as you watch

Open Heavens: Weapons For God's Servant by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Memorise:
And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 1st Samuel 3:19

Read: 1st Samuel 3:19-21,

Bible in one year:
Genesis 43-44,
John 21:15-25

Message
There are some principles of God that can be used as weapons by everyone, regardless of their faith. Divine principles relating to the natural world are given to all to harness  the power inherent in them.

For example, the principle of sowing and reaping falls into this category. However, there are some weapons of God that are exclusively for those who have believed in Jesus Christ. In this subset, there are some weapons designed for the use of God’s servants; one of which is prophecy. The Bible in Amos 3:7 says, “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

God attaches great importance to the words of His servants. In fact, if you walk closely with God, He will personally honour your word, just as He did with Samuel
(1st Samuel 3:19). If only you can work on your relationship with God as His servant,
He will become the backbone of your words. In other words, whenever you speak, people will tremble because they know God will back you up. In Ezekiel 37:1-10, God asked Ezekiel if dry bones could live, and he replied that only God could tell. Thereafter, God told him to prophesy: to make simple pronouncement from his month. He did, and God backed up his words. The result was a mighty army raised from dry bones.

Another weapon available to God’s servants, closely linked with prophecy, is decrees. Job 22:21-28 reveals that if a servant of God can satisfy certain conditions, he will decree a thing and it shall be established. When you go through scriptures, you will discover that those who skilfully used this weapon were mainly prophets of God. A heavily indebted widow ran to Elisha in 2nd Kings 4:1-7, and he gave her certain instructions, decreeing that the little oil she has would continue to multiply until all available vessels she had were filled up. It happened just as he decreed. Notice that He did not say “Thus saith the Lord”. Similarly, a very rich, elderly and barren woman who had consistently taken care of Elisha was told “Madam, nine months from now, you will have a son.” She did not believe it, but it happened as Elisha decreed (2nd kings 4:16-17). When you hear a prophecy, you need faith in order to receive it and see its manifestation; but when it is a decree, even your doubts cannot stop it. As a servant of God, have you been using those weapons that God has made available to you?

 Action Point
After worshipping God today, decree good things into your life, family, workplace, ministry, etc.

Prosper in all things, it's God's desire!
What is true Biblical prosperity and what are the important steps to achieving all that God has for His people for the New Year. These are the questions that this series will answer in order to take God?s people to a new level.

Text: Deuteronomy 30:15-30

15 "Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between prosperity and disaster, between life and death. 16 I have commanded you today to love the LORD your God and to keep his commands, laws, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and become a great nation, and the LORD your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy. 17 But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods, 18 then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy. 19 "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, that you and your descendants might live! 20 Choose to love the LORD your God and to obey him and commit yourself to him, for he is your life. Then you will live long in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

What is prosperity?
being successful, a state of good fortune specially financial success, having in abundance.

For Christians Prosperity is more than good fortune but it's a choice. God said to the Israelite as He says to us today; "Now listen!

He wanted to remind them because for forty years they had made wrong choices and it didnt have to be like that!

You must choose whether you are going to live a prosperous life or a mediocre one, It?s a decision you must make.(NOT THE DEVIL’S decision, NOT YOUR BOSS, NOT YOUR JOB, NOT YOUR PAST CIRCUMSTANCES)

I. IT’S YOUR choice TO prosper!

- There are decisions that you must make now, so that you may finish strong in 2005.

- to pay off your debt or keep on mounting up debt till you cant pay them anymore.

- to eat healthy or keep feeding your body junk food.

-To obey God instead of man.

-To give God time or give all time to yourself.

-To obey God and give God the tithe or spend all the blessings God has bestowed on yourself.

-To put God first or let Him have the leftovers.

-To exercise and make your body healthier or keep on the way you are going. (THESE ARE ALL CHOICES THAT YOU MUST MAKE, THEY DON?T COME AUTOMATIC.)

EVERY CHOICE THAT YOU MAKE TODAY, WILL IMPACT YOUR LIFE TOMORROW.

The choices you made in the past, HAVE MADE YOU THE PERSON THAT YOU ARE TODAY.

IF WE WANT TO TURN OUR LIVES AROUND WE MUST MAKE GOOD CHOICES.

-Godly choices.

-Your choices are going to give you life and prosperity or disaster and death.

Prosperity has almost become a dirty word for the church because of the way it has been abused.

First; The so called Prosperity Gospel that some are preaching..
- says that if you don?t have a million dollars in the bank and drive a new car you must be in sin.

The second extreme is the legalistic way of looking at prosperity;
-If you really to serve god, you must be poor. You can?t have a nice car or a nice house because those are fleshly things that real believers cant have.

God wants you and I to prosper but under His terms not ours

3 John 2 says; "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers"

III. FIVE IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT PROSPERITY)

1)Prosperity does not mean the same thing to everyone. (NOT TRUE PROSPERITY!).

- Prosperity was not the same thing to Jesus as it was to the rich young ruler.

- Prosperity was not the same thing to Lazarus as it was to the rich man.

- Prosperity didn't mean the same thing to the disciples after they met Jesus. (They left all to follow Him)

2) Prosperity in God’s kingdom has to do with stewardship. (TURN YOUR BIBLES TO MATTHEW 25:14-30)

Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a trip. He called together his servants and gave them money to invest for him while he was gone. 15 He gave five bags of gold to one, two bags of gold to another, and one bag of gold to the last dividing it in proportion to their abilities and then left on his trip. 16 The servant who received the five bags of gold began immediately to invest the money and soon doubled it. 17 The servant with two bags of gold also went right to work and doubled the money. 18 But the servant who received the one bag of gold dug a hole in the ground and hid the master's money for safekeeping.

19 After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money. 20 The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of gold said, Sir, you gave me five bags of gold to invest, and I have doubled the amount. 21 The master was full of praise. Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!

22 Next came the servant who had received the two bags of gold, with the report, Sir, you gave me two bags of gold to invest, and I have doubled the amount. 23 The master said, Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!?

24 Then the servant with the one bag of gold came and said, Sir, I know you are a hard man, harvesting crops you didn't plant and gathering crops you didn't cultivate. 25 I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth and here it is.
26 But the master replied, You wicked and lazy servant! You think I, a hard man, do you, harvesting crops I didn't  plant and gathering crops I didn't cultivate.

27 Well, you should at least have put my money into the bank so I could have some interest. 28 Take the money from this servant and give it to the one with the ten bags of gold. 29 To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who are unfaithful. Even what little they have will be taken away. 30 Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.?

3) You must make a choice whether you will prosper by serving Mammon or serving God.
Matthew 6:24 says;
"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.

(TURN YOUR BIBLES TO MATTHEW 19:16-30)

16 Someone came to Jesus with this question: ?Teacher,?*?what good things must I do to have eternal life??
17 Why ask me about what is good? Jesus replied. Only God is good. But to answer your question, you can receive eternal life if you keep the commandments.?
18 Which ones? The man asked.

And Jesus replied: ? Do not murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not testify falsely. 19 Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
20 I obeyed all these commandments, the young man replied. What else must I do?
21 Jesus told him, If you want to be perfect, go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. 22 But when the young man heard this, he went sadly away because he had many possessions.

4) God shows us in His word that Prosperity is achieved by three essentials;

1.Hard work, determination and commitment to God produces prosperity.
Choose to love the LORD your God and to obey him and commit yourself to him, for he is your life. Then you will live long in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

-If God is truly your life, than let your actions prove it!

Proverbs 12:27 says; Lazy people don't even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find.

Proverbs 15:19 says; A lazy person has trouble all through life; the path of the upright is easy!

Proverbs; 19:15 says;15 A lazy person sleeps soundly and goes hungry.
- You cant seat at home watching television all day and expect to achieve what others have with hard work.

- You can claim all the promises you want, You can listen to all the Creflo Dollar and Kenneth Copeland that you want.

-But if you don't get off your rear and do your part nothing is going to happen.

Prov. 10:4 says; "He who is lazy becomes poor,But the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Prov.13:4 says; Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper and be satisfied.

2.Loving the Lord and obeying God's word produces prosperity.

Moses says; I have commanded you today to love the LORD your God and to keep his commands, laws, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and become a great nation, and the LORD your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy?.

- walking in His ways and keeping the commandments of God.

- Jesus narrowed it down for us;(TURN TO MARK 12:28-31)

29 Jesus replied, The most important commandment is this: Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. 31 The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.

IF YOU LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART SOUL AND STRENGTH, YOU WONT;

1. worship any other gods besides Him (Money will not be a problem to you)
2.You will not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
3.You will observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you.
4.You will Honor your father and mother as the Lord God commanded you.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF;

5.You will not murder.
6.You will not commit adultery.
7.You will not steal.
8.You will not testify falsely against your neighbor.
9.You will not covet your neighbor?s wife.
10.You will not covet your neighbor?s house or land or anything else your neighbor owns.

3.Fellowship with the Lord produces prosperity.  Moses says; Choose to love the LORD your God?

-Moses was speaking about having fellowship with God, not justification.

- (MOSES KNEW ABOUT THIS!)
The Bible says that God spoke to Moses as a man would speak to his friend.

-His point was simply that the full enjoyment of life would depend on their obeying God's Word. If a believing Israelite sincerely wanted to please the Lord and it was normal for such a person to love Him and walk in His ways, then we would live under God?s blessing.

When The Stress of The Day Threatens To Steal Your Peace
When the stress of the day threatens to steal your peace, think on Me, My Child. I will drown your fears in My Sea of Perfect Love. The pure crystal clear waters are sweet and refreshing to your soul. They are flowing freely from My Throne of Grace. You may go as deep as you desire, Little One. All the springs of grace, comfort, and glory come from the River of Life.

There is no fear here where I am. My Perfect Love casts out fear. Ankle deep, knee deep, waist deep, then over your head. The deeper you come with Me, My Love, the freer you will feel. Struggle no longer, Dear One. Let My Waters carry you away into perfect freedom and Light. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Hold back no longer, Beloved. Come and jump into the River of Gladness.

Wash off the grime of the world. I made you to flow freely in the Spirit. Wherever My River flows, it brings life. Drink your fill of the abundance of My house. Drink from the River of My delights. In My Presence is fullness of joy and in My Right Hand pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 36:7 How precious is Your loving kindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. 8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. 9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

Revelation 22:1 And the angel showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Ladies: Honest Questions That You Shoud Ask Before You Marry Your Husband
Marriage really is a beautiful thing. I used to think it was a bit pointless, just a piece of paper that allows you an extra tax cut. However, the more I thought about it, the more I learned to appreciate what marriage could be.

Marriage gets a bad rap because most people are really bad at it. It’s not marriage’s fault. It’s the couples’ fault for being neither mature enough nor smart enough to manage.

I used to believe people couldn’t possibly promise to love someone else in 10, 20 years when neither their partners nor they will be the same people they are now. But that’s the point. We know that the future is filled with uncertainty.

Regardless, we still want that promise because it gives us courage to give ourselves to another without reservations.

You may not be able to keep that promise, but you can keep the promise to do your best to be an amazing life partner. That’s all anyone can really ask for. If you’re thinking about tying the knot then be sure that your future life partner to-be can honestly answer these questions to your liking:

1. Why do you love me?

People seem to feel this is a question that doesn’t especially need answering. Most will say we love others simply because we love them — a horrible answer. All people need to know exactly why it is that they love the people they love.

Loving someone is a very selfish act, and it’s okay. You love the person you love for what that person does for you and how he or she makes you feel.

We may all have slightly different answers as to why we love someone, but if we aren’t able to exactly define the parameters of our love, then we’re likely to struggle later on once the initial intensity dies down. If your partner can’t answer why he or she loves you now, then imagine the inevitable uncertainty down the road.

2. Why do you want to spend the rest of your life with me?

“Because I love you” is not a good answer. Life is a journey — one that is best not traveled entirely alone. However, not everyone has the same destination in mind. Wanting to take different pit stops along the route is one thing. Wanting different things out of life is another entirely.

Your partner should be able to tell you what life experiences he or she hopes to share with you. It’s these little goals you set for yourselves that make your life special.

3. Will you do your best to keep the romance alive?

Keeping the romance alive is not an easy task. Yes, it’s all mental, but keeping interest for such a long time is difficult. It takes a lot of work and creativity. It takes the other person regularly trying to please and impress you, which in itself becomes increasingly difficult with each new year.

Romantic love cannot survive on its own; both of you are going to have to maintain it constantly. Is your partner willing to keep the romance as one of his or her main priorities?

4. Will you grow with me, and not away from me?

We may not know exactly where our lives will take us and what we will learn — who we will become — along the way, but we can make a conscious effort to grow closer together and not apart.

Most people grow apart over the years because they feel like they’ve accomplished everything in their relationships that needs accomplishing.

This is one main reason marriages end up being so horrible — people think that there is no greater peak to climb than the one their relationship is already resting on. Marriage shouldn’t be the end, it should be the beginning.

5. Will you stick through the rough times?

The good times are a piece of cake. The difficult times, however, will destroy your relationship if you allow them to. There comes a point in every relationship when you have to make a decision. It’s a decision that, if made, is only made once.  You will reach a point where you will either decide you are going to be there for this person for the rest of his or her life, or not.

If you decide you’re going to stick with this person then you can’t allow any tragedy or outside force to shake that decision. This is one of the most important decisions we make in our lives — or, as it often turns out, fail to make decisively. Has your lover made the decision? Have you?

6. Are you willing to lose some battles in order to keep the peace?

The key to a successful marriage is taming your ego. No matter how competitive we are, sometimes you just need to pick your battles. Sometimes the arguments and the stress just aren’t worth it.

What you need to understand is that 99 percent of arguments aren’t arguments over fact, but rather over opinion. An opinion is neither right nor wrong. Sometimes you just have to let things be.

7. Can you promise to put us ahead of everything else?

Life has a lot to offer. And if you’re anything like me, you have a very large appetite. We want everything life has to offer, and then some. The problem is we don’t have enough time to have it all; our lives are too short. We can only pick a few things we consider important and do our best to flourish in those areas.

The beauty of marriage is that it can be used as a base to build the rest of your life on. Your partner should be just that: your partner. Your relationship is the most important thing in your life because it’s what makes the rest of your life possible.

8. Will you be a great parent?

Again, how could anyone know he or she will be a great parent? Easy. You just decide you’re going to be. That’s it. No tricks. No gimmicks. Just a decision and then action.

Some things don’t need too much thinking involved. You’re going to be great because you decided you will be. Will your lover do the same and be a great role model for your children?

9. Will you be sure to remind me how much you love me regularly?

People not only want, but need to hear it. We need to be reminded you love us because we know that love doesn’t always last forever. We want to hear the words and then have that reassurement reinforced with actions showing how much you love us.

It really is enough just to love us, but understand you need to love us the way we need to be loved — just like we need to love you the way you need to be loved in order for you to be happy.

10. Can you promise to do all you can to keep that spark alive?

Sparks don’t spark on their own. Think about how a lighter works. You have a spark that lights the fuel, which creates a flame. But how does that spark, spark? You have to create a force that will result in the energy creating a spark.

Just the same, you can’t expect sparks to keep flying if you’re not trying. If you want to have a happy and healthy marriage, then you need to find someone willing to devote the necessary energy.

11. Will you support me if I can’t support myself?

Not just financially, but mentally. Maybe even physically if necessary. No one knows what life holds. The unexpected happens, often leaving us weak, hurt or even permanently damaged. Will your partner carry you when you can’t walk?

Will your partner support you when you’re weak at the knees? Will your partner carry the family you’ve created until you regain your strength? Is your partner capable of mustering the strength to fight battles for the both of you?

12. Will you promise to continue to pursue your personal goals and dreams?

Marriage is not entirely the end of the person you were and the start of a new you. Sure, being in a serious relationship does require a person to change in many ways.

Yet, there’s a part of us we can never, under any circumstance, let go of. The dreams, wants and hopes we have — our personal goals — must stay alive.

When we lose them, we lose ourselves and inevitably lose the person we love. Marriage isn’t just an “us.” It’s also a you and him/her. You have to juggle being the person you have always been with being a part of a larger whole. It’s not easy. But it is necessary.

13. Will you not allow yourself to let go?

Will your partner take care of him or herself by eating healthy and exercising? Will your partner get regular checkups and take vitamins? This may sound silly, but I’ve seen what letting yourself go can do to a marriage.

Moreover, I’ve seen how not maintaining your health can make the lives of those closest to you incredibly difficult.

Yes, your family should take care of you when you need to be taken care of — but it’s your responsibility first and foremost to take care of yourself. No people should become a burden to those they love.

14. If I’m the first to go, will you be there with me until the end?

Will your partner hold your hand when you’re too weak to hold it back? Will your partner kiss your forehead and tell you he or she loves you, that you made life worth living? That, because of you, life made sense? Will your partner be there for your last breath, when you find yourself pressed betwixt fear and content?

No one should leave this world alone. It’s said that we leave it the way we come into it, but even when we come into it, there’s someone there to hold us. I understand most people don’t like to think about death, but seeing as it’s an inevitability, it’s better to plan ahead.

15. Can you promise me that if my time is cut short, you’ll continue to live on for the both of us?

You love this person. You want him or her to be happy regardless of whether he or she is with you or without you. If death collects you ahead of schedule, you’ll want to know during those last few seconds that the person you love will continue to live life to the fullest.

That your partner will continue to do great things, continue to be happy, and — if you have children — continue to love your children and guide them through life.

The death of a loved one can ruin you. It can break you in ways that make full-recovery impossible. Can your partner promise you to find the strength and courage to press forward?

I don’t know about you, but the last thing I’d want for the woman I love is for my departure to be her downfall. If my being in her life or leaving her life will in anyway destroy hers, then I clearly made a mistake by allowing myself into her life.

A Real Man Doesn’t Hesitate When He Finds The Right Woman
We spend most of our lives looking for the right woman, yet when we find her, we hesitate. We fail to take that necessary step before we can truly call her our own.

What exactly that step may be varies between couples, just as it varies between the stages in any relationship. You’d think that once you make some sort of commitment, the next commitment you need to make would be easier — that’s not usually the case.

Whether you’re deciding to call your girl your girlfriend, to tell her you love her, to have her move in with you or to call her your wife, these are all decisions you’ll need to inevitably make.

Hesitation is not your friend. Sure, you need to give such decisions sufficient thought, but you should never hesitate without true cause; real men don’t do that.

Real men make the difficult decisions because they understand such decisions need to be made. A real man won’t hesitate when he finds the right woman because:

He understands how lucky he really is.

A real man is an experienced man; he’s been through enough failed relationships and met enough wrong women that when he meets the right woman, he knows what he’s found.

He won’t hesitate because — as far as he’s concerned — he just won the lottery, and what guy waits to cash in the winning ticket?

Why would he wait to tell her how much she means to him? He just doesn’t see a point.

Luck doesn’t last forever, and he should feel the need to lock her down before some other guy manages to wiggle his way in between them.

With billions of people on this planet, finding someone whom you believe you can share your life with is surprisingly rare.

Just as lightning doesn’t often strike the same place twice, neither does he want to take the gamble by rolling the die once more.

He’s mature enough to face commitment.

It’s not necessarily that he doesn’t fear commitment — most individuals do — it’s that he is ready to take that plunge nonetheless. He’s ready to make all the tradeoffs required because he believes his woman is more than worth it.

He may fear commitment, but he doesn’t run from it; he faces his fear — like a man should. Likewise, he may be more than ready to commit, with no frightening thoughts whatsoever.

He may want nothing more than to settle down and love his woman with all his heart. He may be ready to devote himself and his life to her. Regardless of whether or not he fears commitment, as long as he’s ready to dedicate himself to her, he’s a real man.

He wants her to understand how wonderful she is and how much she means to him.

Most people, for whatever confused reason, believe that a woman understands how much she means to you. Sadly, the exact opposite more often proves to be true.

Unless she’s some sort of oracle, you need to use your words — and your actions. You need to be there for her, tell her you love her and show her how much she means to you.

A real man understands this and, moreover, understands how important it is for his partner to know he loves her.

Hesitation shows her your uncertainty. It shows that although you may say you’re going to always be there for her, you may very well one day get up and leave.

You may feel as if hesitation is unnoticeable, but in reality, it often causes incredible damage.

He’s afraid of losing her.
That’s right. A real man is afraid of losing the woman he loves and is not at all scared to admit it. When you meet the right woman, you should be afraid of losing her, whether it be to another person or to one of life’s many tragedies. He’s afraid.

She has become his life, and if he were to lose her, he’d lose himself — the person who she’s helped him become. She’s just as much a part of him as he is a part of himself.

He’s afraid for the woman he loves and accepts his fear; he embraces it. He allows it to guide him and help him understand how important this woman truly is to him.

Real men fear — they fear more than the rest. It’s not sign of weakness, but rather a sign of self-understanding.

He believes she deserves the world, and he wants to give it to her.
He wants to be the one to take her places, to have her try new foods, wines and adventures. He wants to be her first in as many experiences as possible because, just as she is a part of him, he wishes to become a part of her.

He wants her to one day look back and reminisce about all her wonderful adventures and smile — that’s all he cares about. He cares about making her smile, about her being happy with herself, her life, her experiences and her decisions.

Deciding whom you’re going to spend your life with is arguably the most important decision a person makes in his or her life.

What real men refuse to become is the reason she regrets the way she’s spent the few days on this earth allotted to her. On the contrary, he wants to be the reason she has no regrets.

He can’t think of a single reason to wait a minute longer.
Not any good reasons, at least. Of course, we can always come up with excuses or conjure up make-believe and highly-improbable scenarios, delusions even, in order to avoid the possibility of heartbreak. Real men don’t do that, however, cowards do.

He can’t think of a single good reason to hesitate, to wait a moment longer before showing her exactly how he feels, because there is none. She is the right woman. If he wishes to be the right man, he must decide to be — and that starts with taking that first step.

Most often, people choose to be blind to all the good reasons to leave, to call it quits. Most relationships are doomed to fail because they are between two individuals who can’t possibly work together.

But when you find the right person, there are no good reasons to resist.

We may come up with bullsh*t excuses, but they are only excuses. A real man is honest with himself. When he knows he’s found the one, he makes her the one.
