Without the power of the Holy Spirit, we can't do anything as Christians. In order for man’s innermost organ to gain dominion over the soul and body and thus serve as channel for the life of the Spirit to be transmitted to others, there must be availability of the Holy Spirit.

Paul prays for believers “that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man [spirit]” (Eph. 3.16). Therefore the prayer is that the believer’s spirit may be strengthened by God’s Spirit.
