So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lord your god has given to you and your house. (Deuteronomy 26:11 NKJV)
Good things come to those who are mindful of Jesus and all He accomplished for them on the cross.
God’s Word says, “no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11 NKJV). When some people hear this, they automatically think, “But I’m not upright, I just committed that same old sin again. That verse doesn’t apply to me because I know I’m not upright.”
Others think, “I faithfully attend church, tithe, pray for an hour each day, confess the Word of God, and never watch R-rated movies. Compared to others, I am walking uprightly before God.”
Both of these attitudes are completely wrong. Both focus on the individual and not on Jesus.
The Bible tells us the just shall live by faith (see Hebrews 10:38). Live by faith in what? Faith in Jesus and all He did for you on the cross; faith in what God says in His Word.
If you’ve confessed with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then according to Romans 10:9, you are now saved and therefore stand upright, holy, and blameless before God.
For this reason, every child of God can stand on the Word and rejoice for every good thing that He has given to them.
Confession: Thank You, Father, for every good thing You have given to me. Because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, I can walk uprightly before You knowing that you will not withhold any good thing from me.
