Deuteronomy 11:26—Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse
You Can Bring Curses Upon Yourself
Part Two—
You can bring curses upon yourself!
There is a financial curse in Malachi 3:89. The word of God says, “Will a man rob God? You have robbed me. But ye say, ‘wherein have we robbed thee?” In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.” Tithing is step one to financial independence.
When you tithe God blesses you because of your obedience to his word. When you refuse to tithe, God cuts you off and calls you a thief. He has our mug shot on his bulletin board n heaven. Some of you go to church driving stolen cars, wearing stolen clothes and stolen jewelry. You took God’s money and bought those things. Let me tell you something: God plays hardball. God doesn’t sit up in heaven saying, “Oh my, they’re not obeying me. What’ll I do?” God controls your breath. He controls your heartbeat. God says, “Hey, I can get his attention.” Then he shuts off your business. He sees to it that your new car breaks down, once a week. He has your motherinlaw move in with you. He has the IRS call and say they’re auditing all the way back to the Civil War!
What happens when you tithe? “Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” Malachi 3:10. Would you like a blessing from the Lord that you don’t have the ability to contain? The answer is found in tithing.
