Luke 21:36—Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
The Purpose Of The Rapture Is To Protect The Church From Deception
Part One—
If you don’t believe that Jesus is literally coming again in the clouds, how will you know the real Jesus when he gets here?
Anyone can stand on the Mount of Olives in a white bed sheet and say he’s Jesus Christ. Anyone can surround himself with a group of fanatics saying he’s the new king of Israel.
God knew that frauds and impostors would come along saying they’re Christ and deceiving many, even the very elect; Jesus himself said so Matthew 24:2427.
So how will we be able to tell the real Jesus from all the false pretenders? God supernaturally installed a failsafe system— a mechanism so staggering in supernatural power, so shattering in concept, that Satan cannot imitate it, much less duplicate it. This failsafe system is called the rapture.
How am I going to know when the real Jesus gets here? Not by what I read in the New York Times. Not by what some theological space cadet tells me. And not by what some selfproclaimed messiah standing in a bed sheet on top of the Mount of Olives says.
I’ll know it’s the real Jesus when my squatty body defies the laws of gravity and sails into the Milky Way. When the real Jesus gets here, this protoplasmic blob will realign itself in absolute perfection and shazam!—I’m out of here and in the twinkling of an eye I’ll be standing in my glorified body in the presence of the living God.
