Luke 21:36—Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
The Purpose Of The Rapture Is To Protect The Church From Deception
Part Two—
Some people say that the rapture teaching is nothing but escapism. The rapture is no more escape from the real world than salvation is escape from the fires of hell. The rapture is no more escapism that divine healing is escapism from disease.
Environmentalists want to escape from pollution. The peace movement wants to escape from war. The Bible teaches us very plainly to prepare to escape the things that are coming upon this earth Luke 21:36.
The “escape clause” is definitely there. What are we going to escape? The wrath of God poured out in the Great Tribulation. Let me describe very briefly what the Bible says is going to happen when the church of Jesus Christ is gone and God turns the world over to Satan and his messiah, the Antichrist.
Nature will go berserk. Onethird of all vegetation will be burned up by a sun out of control. Trees will be toasted from coast to coast. Fires will break out spontaneously. Crops will be totally destroyed and devastating famine will ensue. What you are seeing on TV in Somalia will be occurring worldwide. Earthquakes will be so severe that entire islands will sink into the sea. Millions will be trapped beneath the rubble of metropolitan areas.
It will be a time of such suffering and misery that the mind of man cannot grasp it.
Don’t you want to escape that? I certainly do. The only way out is a “close encounter of the fourth kind.” Will you be ready when Jesus Christ comes in the clouds of heaven to catch away his bride?
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
