The duck doesn’t fret when it rains, so why do you? I want you to take a page from the ducks book. When the enemy throws things at you, let them roll off of you like water off a duck’s back.
Do you know why water rolls off duck feathers? This is because duck feathers are coated in special oil that repels water.
Are you not also coated in special oil, the oil of the anointing. And does the anointing not break the yoke. And it shall come to pass in that day that this burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27). Have I not equipped you with all that you need, then why do you fret and worry. There is a quote by Erma Bombeck.”Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere.”Then Jesus said to his disciples: Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear (Luke 12:22). I hear many times that faith and fear cannot occupy the same space.
So then would it also not be true that if you are abiding in total trust, worry cannot trouble your doorstep. Is it not our blood bought right to command the enemy to go. My Bible tells me,”Resist the devil, and he will flee.” Submit yourself to God today, listen not to man’s opinion. But be spirit led by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. But blessed is the one who trust in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit (Jeremiah 17:7-8). Like a loving father the Lord is saying, do not worry what your future holds, trust the one who holds your future. Quit looking at your circumstance, and start looking at Me in Heaven above.
The Alpha and Omega, the one true living God. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17). I am consistent and steadfast, my love for you will never waiver. I will not deviate or step away from what I have promised. My hand will support you, my voice will guide you, and my love will carry you. The Lord tends his flock like a shepherd: he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young (Isaiah 40:11). Today, the last part of this verse jumped out at me.
He promises to be gentle with those of us responsible for younger ones under us. To guide us as mothers and fathers, so we can guide his children. We all have someone we can mentor, let God guide you in your mentorship. It is time to step out and step up to all God has called you to be. Let the fullness of your gifts show up on the scene. Someone needs what you have today. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much Faith as God has given you (Romans 12:6). Have faith, and do not doubt.
Believe God for all that he has promised. Be edified in love and in the perfecting of the Saints. Come forth apostle and prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers, come forth....And just like water off a duck’s back, the enemy cannot slow you down. On rainy days adore him and your God will not let you down. Walk through the storm warrior, walk through the storm! Your silver lining is just beyond the clouds....
