This morning I held out my hand and the Lord placed a candle in it.
It was burning brightly, and I immediately cupped my hand around it so the wind did not blow out the flame. I was careful when walking with it, so that it kept burning.
Isn’t that the way the Lord is with us. Once He ignites the flame within us, He comes in and protects us so the flame can grow. We then also have the ability to light the flames of others. Like the passing of a baton or sharing revelation with another. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house (Matthew 5:15)....
Then I saw a small glass house placed over the candle. I thought, oh good, that will protect it from the wind. But within seconds the flame used all the oxygen and the candle went out. Sometimes the same thing that looks safe, like protection, will be the same thing that extinguishes your flame. Be brave, be bold, and take risk for the Lord. And also, don’t be afraid to light another’s candle. Your flame will not be diminished by how brightly someone else’s is burning.
The more flames the more of God‘s light that will cover the earth. And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst (Zechariah 2:5). For the earth to be as full of the knowledge of ADONAI’S glory as water covering the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). The flame of the Lords glory is spreading, and that happens by you and me. Light the one another’s candles, fanning one another’s flames. Have your lamps full of oil, your wicks trimmed; for the Lord comes quickly....
