Come To Me by Jerry Savelle
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV)

Have you ever prayed something like this: “God, say something to me that will pull me out of this depression, this discouragement, this sense of hopelessness”?

According to Jesus, if the yoke you wear is not easy and light, it is not His yoke. Jesus wants to lift you up. He wants to deliver you and set you free from the weight of that depression, discouragement, worry, care—or whatever you may be carrying.

The Amplified translation of the scripture above says, “You will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls” (v.29). In other words, you’re going to learn you can have joy in every situation; you’re going to have some fun.

When you come to Jesus, you will learn the truth about your situation. The truth is, when you stand on His Word, God will give you the victory.  With this revelation you will be able to walk through any situation with joy and hope, knowing that it will turn out for your good.

Confession: Jesus, I come to you today and release all of my burdens to you. I receive Your yoke and the rest and refreshment You promised. Father, thank You for loving me. You have already given me the victory in every situation, and I await the manifestation with joy.

Don't Be Judgment-Focused by Joseph Prince
2 Corinthians 5:19

…God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them…

On which two ancient cities did God rain brimstone and fire? If your answer is Sodom and Gomorrah, you are right. But if you think that God was all eager to destroy the two cities, you are wrong!

God wasn’t willing at all. He was not on a sin hunt. He was on a righteousness hunt so that He could spare the cities (see Genesis 18:23–32). And I believe that if Abraham had asked God, “What if You can find just one righteous man?” God’s answer would have been the same: “I will not destroy the place for the sake of one righteous man.”

Today, the righteousness of one Man—Jesus—has come. Jesus died for our sins and rose again for our justification. God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not counting our sins against us!

Therefore, no judgment will fall on you today because it fell on Jesus 2,000 years ago at Calvary. And if God was gracious enough to remove Lot and his family before the judgment fell (see Genesis 19:12–22), how much more will He do for you who are no longer under judgment!

And because God does not judge you, don’t be like Lot’s wife, who became a pillar of salt when she turned around to look at the brimstone and fire (see Genesis 19:24–26). She wanted to see God’s judgment, even though the angels had warned, “Don’t look back, lest you be destroyed” (see Genesis 19:17).

So don’t be judgment-focused and look back at the sins you have committed. God is not against you. He is for you and on your side. He remembers that He has already judged and punished your sins in the body of His Son. And because He is faithful to His Son and to what His Son has done, He will never judge or punish you. Any trouble that you might have today is not from Him. But He will show you a way of escape because He is on your side. He loves you and has your best interests at heart.

Beloved, God is not out to get you. He is out to bless you. And He wants you blessed more than you can ever ask or imagine (see Ephesians 3:20)!

There is a dual motivation in the Christian life: the love and fear of the Lord. We love God so we are motivated to obey Him. But we also run away from sin because we fear Him and do not want to displease Him. My prayer is that we would all have a deeper understanding of these motivations and apply them in our lives.

Fierce Protector by Deborah Waldron Fry
7/31/2019 Heard," I am your Fierce Protector, the God of all the earth, the Conquering King, whom shall you fear?"

"Beloved. Fear not. Your Abba Father is still in control. Do not panic, My Child. The earth is Mine and the fullness thereof. Though the nations are in an uproar, you are safe beside Me. It is the time spoken of by the prophets. It is the last of the last days. The people imagine vain things. The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take cousel together against Yahweh and against His Anointed. Take heart. Little One of Mine. He who sits in the heavens laughs for I see that his day is coming. The King is sitting upon His Holy Mountain.

I wear the Victor's Crown. Are you not seated with Me, Beloved? Yes, you have been raised up and seated beside the Majesty on High. I will speak to the enemy, Dear One. I am ROARING your vindication. I am your FIERCE PROTECTOR. Though the wicked ones plot against you, they shall never succeed. You shall not fear even when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, My Child. I have conquered death and the grave. Through your new birth, YOU are now a conqueror as I AM. You are a joint heir of My Kingdom. By My Hand, all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities.Lift up your eyes, Beloved. Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as your possession."

...Psalm 37:12The wicked plot against the just, and gnashes upon him with his teeth.13The Lord shall laugh at him: for he sees that his day is coming.
...Psalm 2:1Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? 2The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, 3“Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!”4He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them.

...1 Corinthians 10:26 for, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof."
...Deuteronomy 10:14 "Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it.
...1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.

...Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him.

...Romans 8:16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ— if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.

The Vision of A Young Woman by Tammy Lang Jensen
I saw a vision of a young woman, she was almost up to her hips in deep sand. Every step she took was a struggle.

Finally, after much struggling and determination I see her step out of her barren place.

She steps onto what looks like a wooden pier. But then she does something odd, instead of running for the hills, she turns around and begins to pray in her prayer language.

It takes a special kind of warrior, to turn around and face their Dead Sea, their barren place. To be a watchmen on the wall, and pray until others have the strength to climb out. To decree and declare victory over them, until faith is all they see. Are you holding prayer vigils until friends and family are set free.

Until they have really stepped out of an ocean of sand. No longer weighed down with the cares and concerns of this world. Have you declared Isaiah 40:31 over them: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint....

For thus the Lord says to me. Go, Station the lookout let him report what he sees (Isaiah 21:6). Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices, they shout joyfully together; for they will see with their own eyes when the Lord restores Zion (Isaiah 52:8). Do not tarry, and drag your feet any longer. Pray without ceasing, they are dying out there. Bound up and overcome by the enemies tactics. But we hold freedom in our mouth, the prayers of a righteous man availeth much....

I decree and declare from this day forward that God’s people are coming out. I will wield my staff to part the Red Sea, and take down the kingdom of darkness. I will say like Moses,”Let my people go!”....

But even the archAngel Michael, contending with the devil, and when disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said,”The Lord, rebuke you Satan!”(Jude 1:9)....

When you get involved in spiritual warfare, praying for others, and releasing the written word; are you seeking permission from the father in heaven. Are you totally submitted under his hand? Are you walking in error, or the sin of assumption or presumption? It takes 5 seconds to say,”Lord, do you want my hand in this?” If he sends you to it, he will protect you through it. Be careful you are not battling alone. As for me and my house, we will serve the lord! And walk assuredly of his protective hand, live under his wing, and the ability to be in the cleft of the rock....

It’s funny, I am suddenly reminded of the lyrics of a Kenny Rogers song “The Gambler”:
You’ve got to know when to hold’em
Know when to fold’em
Know when to walk away
And no when to run
You never count your money
When you’re sittin at the table
They’ll be time enough for countin’
When the dealin’s done....
When you were fighting an enemy you cannot see. You better be fully dependent on an invisible God, who sees all. You need God‘s eyes and his wisdom to win this war. Don’t run out ahead of him or lag too far behind. But stay step and step with your Savior. And be like the gambler and know the secret to survival. And let’s all be Victorious, and live to see Revival....

Open Heavens: God or Men Pleaser? by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Friday August 2nd 2019
Memorise: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. 1st Thessalonians 2:4

Read: Acts 4:15-20 (KJV)
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

Bible in one year:
Judges 17-18,
Ezekiel 27:1-25,

Hymn:
Sing hymn 10

Message:
One of the most important responsibilities of leaders is to make the people they lead happy by providing an enabling environment for peace and prosperity.

A leader who listens to the yearnings and aspirations of his people and tries to provide solutions to their problems is usually loved, while any leader who fails to satisfy the common interest of the people, even for the best reasons, is generally condemned. Therefore, leaders at every level of human endeavour have perfected the art of pleasing the people they lead in order to continually earn their approval and to keep enjoying the power, wealth and influence made available by their office. However, the Bible admonishes Christians in general and those in position of authority in particular to reject the temptation of becoming pleasers of men. 1st Thessalonians 2:4 says:

“But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.”

We see from this scripture that God expects all Christians to view every opportunity to influence others as a divine responsibility that has a divine purpose. Therefore, we are to do all things to the glory of God with the consciousness that we owe our allegiance to Him and not to any human being. For this reason, the Holy Spirit says in Psalm 75:6-7:

“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

Pleasing people involves making every effort to do whatever they want in order to win their approval, even when such actions are contrary to God’s commandments. Pleasing people requires eye service, insincerity, self-centeredness and godlessness. Men pleasers have an insatiable appetite for money and power, and they can mortgage the future of the people they lead to achieve their selfish ambitions. Anyone who is obsessed with pleasing people will unconsciously begin to work against God’s purpose until he or she becomes an enemy of God. Paul came to this conclusion in Galatians 1:10, saying:

“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

Aaron, King Saul and Herod are examples of leaders who were committed to pleasing people in order to win their approval, without much consideration for the will and commandments of God (Exodus 32, 1st Samuel 15, Acts 12:20-23). Unfortunately, they all got punished for their evil actions. I pray that every tendency to be a people-pleaser will be completely removed from your life today in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point
Father, please let my focus be centred on pleasing You in all things in Jesus’ Name.

Courage Comes From Faith by Gloria Copeland
Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 1:9

Courage comes from trusting God. It can’t be mentally drummed up. It comes from believing what God says regardless of what the circumstances look like. Courage comes from faith!

Where does discouragement come from? From fear and unbelief. It comes when you listen to the devil’s lies about what God is not going to do for you.

As the people of God, you and I must shake off discouragement and rise up with courage! We must quit looking at our own abilities and failures and limitations and start looking to God. We must rise up in the Name of Jesus and the power of His Spirit and establish the kingdom of heaven upon earth.

If you’ve been discouraged lately, stop listening to Satan’s lies. Stop receiving evil reports. Whenever someone tells you God is not going to deliver you, you just tell them, “He’s already delivered me in the Name of Jesus.”

Once you begin to realize who you are and what you’ve been given by the power of God, you’ll quit letting the devil run all over you. God didn’t suggest that you be strong and courageous. That is His command!

Scripture Reading:
Joshua 1:1-9

Demands of the Soul by Billy Graham
And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought . . .
—Isaiah 58:11

The soul demands as much attention as the body. It demands fellowship and communion with God. It demands worship, quietness, and meditation. Unless the soul is fed and exercised daily, it becomes weak and shriveled. It remains discontented, confused, restless.

Many people turn to alcohol to try to drown the cryings and longings of the soul. Some turn to a new sex experience. Others attempt to quiet the longings of their souls in other ways. Nothing but God ever completely satisfies, because the soul is made for God, and without God it is restless and in secret torment. The first step to God is a realization of your spiritual poverty. The poor in spirit do not measure the worth of life in earthly possessions, which fade away, but in terms of eternal realities, which endure forever. Wise is the man who openly confesses his lack of spiritual wealth and in humilty of heart cries, “God, be merciful unto me, a sinner.”

Revive Your Soul Today. Cry Out to God.

Prayer for the day
As I look to You, my Lord and my Redeemer, the strivings of my soul will be satisfied. You alone bring lasting joy.

A Prideful Heart Opposes God by Rick Warren
“'God opposes everyone who is proud, but he is kind to everyone who is humble.’ Surrender to God!”(James 4:6-7 CEV).

We often make plans without even consulting God. Then we pray and ask God to bless our plans, even though we didn’t ask him to take part in them. We just assume that our plans are his will. Then, when our plans don’t happen on the timetable we want or they don’t happen at all, we get angry with God. That’s called pride, and God hates pride.

There are probably a lot of people you wouldn’t want to oppose, but you really don’t want to be opposed by God. There’s no way you’re going to win that one. When you’re prideful, the Bible says you’re in opposition to God at that very moment. In fact, you’re operating as an enemy of God anytime you get full of pride. That’s how serious it is. So, what does it mean to surrender yourself and your plans to God?

Romans 6:13 says, “Give yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes” (GNT). Surrendering means saying, “God, I’m going with your plans for my life, not my own. I’ve got plans, I’ve got dreams, I’ve got goals, I’ve got ambitions, but I know that you put me on this earth for a purpose, and I’m going to intentionally choose your plan for my life instead of my own.”

Surrendering to God is the best path to success because instead of him becoming part of your plan, he will make you a part of his plan.

Talk It Over

What areas of your life do you need to surrender to God?
How does your desire to control certain areas of life reveal your pride?
Why do you think God hates pride?
