Good morning friends and family of God Honor Strength, it is an honor and a privilege to reach out to each of you and share God's word. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to bless you each week. I hope everyone had an amazing and blessed weekend and were able spend some time with those that you love, including our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
This past weekend I attended a memorial service for Deputy Darren Goforth who was killed in the line of duty a year ago while fueling his patrol car at a local gas station. It is hard to believe is has been a year since that dreadful night, I can remember it like it was yesterday.
As a Crisis Chaplain for Harris County, I work alongside the Sheriff Deputies doing ride alongs with them, offering spiritual support and guidance, and when Deputy Goforth was gunned down, we offered many a prayers and many hours and days and months of comforting to many of the deputies and their families. Please continue to pray for all the men and women in blue, all first responders and of course our military and our veterans.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9
With all the evil taking place in today's world, I am asked quite often why would God allow this to happen? Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? I answer them the best way I know how, I tell them what God tells me. "The evil in today's society can not be controlled or extinguished when I am being forgotten by so many in your country. When I am not allowed in your schools, your workplaces, your government, your country. I cannot be present to help, when your government has made it politically incorrect to keep Me present for fear of offending others."
We as a country have become a fallen nation. We may be one of the strongest nations in the world, but in God's eyes we fall well short. This country was founded as One Nation Under God. Not "One Nation Under God when it is politically correct or One Nation Under God as long as we don't offend anyone". I believe it is time to take this country back and place it in the hands of our Father in Heaven, where it belongs.
This is what the Lord says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord."
Jeremiah 17:5
As Christians, we need to keep praying, keep our Faith strong and our Hope alive. We need to pray for our families, our friends, our neighbors, your child's teacher, your coworkers, and most importantly, this nation that we call home. Let's stop standing in the shadows, let's stop sitting in the back of the room or behind closed doors. Let's tell our leaders, our politicians, our officials that we are "One Nation Under God" and we want our country back. Evil has gained the upper hand in this country and around the world and as long as we sit in the background and not stand up and be heard, nothing will change and the enemy will continue to reside in the White House, in Washington DC and in all the nations capitals around the world.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.
Psalm 33:12
As I speak a blessing over each of you this morning, always remember, I am here for you if you ever need to talk or get something off your chest or if you need prayer for yourselves, your family or your friends. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Dear Father God, thank you for blessing us with this day and loving us as Your children. Watch over each and every one of us as we start each day, as we go through this week, keeping us in the palm of Your hand. Guide us in our daily lives, directing us on the path You have planned for us, bringing forth the dreams you have planted in each of our hearts. For we know who we are and whose we are, children of the most high God. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
"Keep your Faith strong, your Hope alive and your Prayers never ending."
God Bless
