The Jericho Curse
The third major curse in the Bible is the curse upon the city of Jericho. When Israel defeated Jericho, Joshua pronounced a curse upon the city that continues until this day.
Simply stated, Joshua 6:26, says that if man tries to rebuild Jericho, his oldest son will die when he starts, and should he stay with it long enough to put up the gates, his youngest son will die. Did that ever happen? Yes. Hundreds of years later, during the administration of Ahab, a man by the name of Kiel tried to rebuild the city of Jericho. 1 Kings 16:34 says that his oldest and youngest sons died exactly according to the curse spoken by Joshua.
On of my trips to Israel our tour guide told us the 30 years ago a man started to rebuild Jericho as a tourist attraction. When he started, his oldest son died suddenly and unexpectedly. He stopped building. I can assure you that if he had continued, his youngest son would have died, because curses follow you from generation to generation until they are bound and broken in the name and authority of Jesus Christ.
