Many assume that “separation of church and state” appears somewhere in the Constitution.  It does not.  The first amendment of the Constitution prohibits the making of laws that respect he establishment of religion and prohibit its free exercise.  As a result, our lawmakers have made it impossible for public school children to recite Christian prayer in public schools.  However, as was reported in December 2003, a California School in the Byron union School District is requiring seventhgrade students to ‘pretend they’re Muslims, wear Islamic garb, memorize verses form the Quran, pray to Allah and even to play ‘jihad games’.”  A federal judge upheld that such activities were allowable after outraged Christian parents brought a lawsuit against the school district.

While courts are allowing other religions to be promoted, Christianity is blatantly being berated in our society.

Regarding higher education, noted history professor George Marsden claims.
In the most prestigious parts of American academia, religious scholars are given less of a voice than Marxist scholars.”  Christian Evangelist Chuck Colson had this to say about academic freedom in American universities:

“We are left with a disturbing paradox.  While higher education is better funded and more accessible than ever before…it has nothing left worth teaching…there is no truth worth pursuing.”

George Washington said, “The future of this nation depends on the Christian training of our youth.”  It is impossible to govern America without the Bible.”  Likewise, Abraham Lincoln highlights the importance of education by saying, “The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.”  We must do as the Word says and “train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”  However, we have not been training our children in the right way—and in the event that we do not, the state will.
