Luke 9:62—But Jesus said to him, \"No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
You Have To Give Up What You Have… To Get What God Has For You!
Some of you have been spiritually and emotionally browbeaten. You have been humiliated, dehumanized, and emotionally whipped. You are tired and exhausted. Quitting looks good and victory seems impossible. But Egypt is not your inheritance, the promised land is. Forget what is behind and press on to what God has for your. Your inheritance is not sin and sickness.
Your inheritance is divine health and healing. Your inheritance is not financial crisis; your inheritance is having God supply all your needs not your greed but your need. Your heritage is not to live in a domestic squabble that’s a perpetual civil war. Your spiritual heritage is not to be in bondage to drugs and alcohol. Your heritage is to be free, for whom the Son sets free, is free indeed. You need to walk out of this church today and kick the mud of Pharaoh’s brick pits off your feet and say, “I’m a child of the king, and nothing is impossible with God.”
You have to get out of Egypt to get to the Promised Land. It took God one or two days to get the Jews out of Egypt, but it took 40 years to get Egypt out of them. You have to give up what you consider good for what God says is better. Why is it that when God gives us something, we roll it up and hold on to it like a bulldog biting the last bone in the world? We say, “I’ll never give this up.” God says, “I have something better for you,” but you don’t believe it. If God is trying to take something away from you, let him. Because what he replaces it with will be milk and honey, not the mud pits of Egypt.
