The Bold Stands by John Hagee

The sensational drama of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in Daniel 3 portrays the supernatural power of God to deliver the righteous in their day of trouble.

The Bold Stands by John Hagee
Daniel 3:16-18—…Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said…if it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

It Is Those Who Take Bold Stands That Go Into Fiery Furnaces; Cowards Are Never Challenged!
The sensational drama of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in Daniel 3 portrays the supernatural power of God to deliver the righteous in their day of trouble.

King Nebuchadnezzar built a 90 foot tall golden statue on the plains of Dura in Babylon Iraq.  He commanded all the leaders and all the citizens to bow and worship this image at the sound of the music.  Those who did not were to be burned alive.  At the precise moment when the conductor brought down the baton and the music started, the sea of people became a massive wave, bowing on their faces before the god of Nebuchadnezzar.  But standing ramrod straight in the front of these thousands of people were three righteous Jews—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—who would not bow before the idol.

This politically incorrect behavior was instantly noticed by those who were in charge.  The three Hebrew children were brought before Nebuchadnezzar who then commanded the fiery furnace to be heated seven times hotter.  The three Hebrew children were thrown into the fire, bound hand and foot.  The fire was so hot that the mighty men who threw them into the furnace were burned alive, just by being near the fire.  But then came the most sensational display of supernatural power Nebuchadnezzar had ever seen:

He answered and said, Look, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Daniel 3:24-25

This famous Bible drama contains good news and bad news.  The bad news is that those who make bold stands for the word of God will be tried by fire. The good news is that when you walk through the fire, the fire won’t burn because the Lord will deliver the righteous in the day of trouble.
