The Tongue of The Wise by Tammy Lang Jensen
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth (Psalm 119:103). I saw honey dripping from a honeycomb onto a woman’s forehead.

I then heard, pepper your words with kindness for edifying the body of Christ. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you are to answer each person (Colossians 4:6). A kind word turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good (Proverbs 15:1-2)....

I love local honey, it is great if you have allergies. We use manuka honey around the barn for its antibacterial properties. I love honey in my tea, I always feel like I am doing something good for my body....

However, refined and processed white sugar is terrible for us. While it is still sweet to the taste, it can trigger headaches, weight gain, it breaks down rapidly causing insulin and blood sugar levels to skyrocket....

I see a dangerous trend with the word of God. While all of it is good for edifying the body of Christ, it becomes too sweet to the taste when we pick and choose what we preach to the body of Christ. We can’t just pull out scriptures about wealth, without also saying: Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back (Luke 6:30). Also when we teach, whoever does not love, does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:8). We must also share that God is coming back to judge His people. For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the Gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17)....

Even the angels hearken unto the word of the Lord. Praise the Lord, you his angels, your mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word (Psalm 103:20). There is power in the word of God, for better or for worse. And you His preachers, priest and prophets will be held accountable for every idle word you utter. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak (Matthew 12:36). So hearken unto the voice of the Lord, deliver his word in it’s entirety. The whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God....
The pure word of God is like honey, but motivational speaking is like processed sugar. Sweet to the taste, but lacking substance....

Let’s sustain the body....
