Consciously Meditate On The Word by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).

For the Christian, meditating on God’s Word isn’t optional; it’s something you have to do consistently. The Lord, in our opening verse, outlined the importance of meditation and what it’ll produce in your life: all-round prosperity, and durable success. Sadly, some Christians would rather meditate on the challenges they’re facing than on God’s Word, not realising it’s the Word that can put them over and above the challenges of life.

Always meditate on the Word, not on the problems or circumstances. The challenges you face, and the circumstances of life are not real; they’re all subject to change. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “…the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” The Word of God is the unseen reality, the only sure and dependable foundation in life; keep your gaze on the Word only. Refuse to be swayed or moved by circumstances. See nothing else but the Word prevailing in your life, putting you over and above circumstances, and piloting you from glory to glory.

During your quiet moments, think on the Word! From thinking, mutter the Word; and from muttering, roar the Word! These are different levels of meditation. Don’t doze off while meditating; walk around in your room, and utter creative words that’ll shape and align your future with God’s perfect will for your life.

The world is full of negative voices and forces, but you’ve got to counter them by releasing the forces of life from within you; these are your faith-filled confessions. You’ve got to create your fruitful and productive life—your victorious life—with your words. No one but you can do this for you. Meditation is God’s recipe for success; do it consciously.

CONFESSION:
My future is secure in Christ; all things are working together for my good, because I love the Lord, and I’m called according to His purpose. Christ in me is my greatest advantage. I’m forever lifted, over and above the depravity and corrupting influences of this world. Blessed be God!

A Cloud of My Glory by Deborah Waldron Fry
Beloved. The Rain is starting. See the signs everywhere. There is a cloud of My Glory appearing over your land.

The storms the enemy sent are being overcome by drops of Mercy and Grace. The Rainbow does not appear without the rain, Dear One. It is the time of the Latter Rain.

Grace like Rain is falling upon your face, Dear One. Grace to overcome. Grace upon Grace. New mercies appear every morning. See the Bright Clouds of My Glory shining through the darkness. You have been patient, My Child. I am coming to you by My Spirit. I am coming to you like the Rain. The skies are full and bursting forth. It is the time of the Latter Rain.

Pure Drops of Living Water from Heaven to refresh and renew you. Forget the former things, behold, I am doing a new thing, My Bride. You are coming out of the wilderness, leaning on your Beloved. The rain is falling. Manifold Blessings raining down upon you. Instead of shame, you shall receive a double portion. And even more than that, My Child; You shall reign in the Rain with Me. And it will be marvelous in your eyes.

Manifold: many and various; see comments for more :D
...Isaiah 43:18 “Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to things of old. 19Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

...Song of Solomon 8:5 Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?
...John 1:16From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.

...Hosea 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
...Zechariah 10:1Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

...Romans 5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one Man, Jesus Christ!

...Isaiah 61:7 Instead of shame, My people will have a double portion, and instead of humiliation, they will rejoice in their share; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs.

...Psalm 118:22The Stone the builders rejected has become the Cornerstone. 23This is from the LORD, and it is marvelous in our eyes. 24This is the day that the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Open Heavens: Dangers of Bad Habits by Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Wednesday 3rd October 2018
MEMORIZE: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2.
Bible in one year: Isaiah 30-32.

Read: Mark 7:20-23 (KJV)
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
open-heaven-3-october-2018-dangers-of-bad-habits-open-heavens
Bad habits may initially start as harmless actions or in actions that can be easily overlooked. Nevertheless, don’t be deceived, bad habits can ruin a person's life and prevent him or her from achieving God's plan and purpose over time.

Bad habits don’t start suddenly; they become habits after an individual fails to stop them early enough. Over time, they grow into something big and difficult to control, having enough power to destroy the destiny of their victim. Is there a character flaw in you that le are beginning to complain about, or do you find yourself indulging in things that you know are inappropriate? Attack that character flaw now before it destroys you.

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus made it clear that a person is defiled by what comes from inside him or her; and that evil thoughts originate from within the heart. This is equally true for bad habits. Before a habit is formed, it starts as thoughts and suggestions that seem harmless. If a fellow chooses to accept these thoughts and suggestions, dwells on them and begins to cultivate them in his or her heart, they will soon begin to manifest outwardly in that person’s speech, actions and motives. If the fellow does not quickly notice the character flaw and take steps to change it, it becomes a habit that will end up defining him or her. For example, some people have the habit of going late to meetings.

It usually starts with thoughts like ‘‘l’m sure this meeting won’t start at the time stated,” and before long, they will find themselves arriving late to every single meeting. For some people, it is the way they eat. When they are indoors, they say to themselves” Let me eat the way i like; after all, nobody is watching me.” They then become accustomed to eating in an uncultured or unhealthy manner; and they end up embarrassing themselves when they eat like that in public. Habits, small as they may seem, can be very costly if not managed properly. As a young man, I once lost a chance for a commonwealth scholarship abroad because I had poor eating habits.

Lastly, many people look at children of God and make conclusions about God from what they see in their lives. Don’t let your habit give God a bad reputation. Be careful what you do and how you do it. Most times, people don't come and tell u about your bad habits, but they can see it all. This is why you need to watch yourself. Ask for the truth on any bad habits you may have from someone close enough to be sincere and open with you. I pray that you will become so filled with the Holy Spirit that all your words and actions will be directed by Him alone in Jesus’ name.

Action point: Find someone close to you who will be honest with you and ask him or her to tell you the bad habits that they may have observed in you.

Avoid Big Failures by Kenneth Copeland
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness.

Ephesians 4:17-19

There's a subtle strategy Satan uses to take control of our lives. The Bible calls it lasciviousness and it means "to have no restraint."

Lasciviousness has been preached as being extreme immorality, but it doesn't start out that way. It begins with just a few seemingly innocent thoughts. Then those thoughts grow and grow until they begin to produce serious sin.

One afternoon as a 9-year-old boy, for example, I just yielded to the desire to curse. I knew better, but I did it anyway. I had a relative who was so good at West Texas cussin' that I thought he invented it. I was impressed and I wanted to try it.

When I let go of all restraint and began to say those curse words, something evil moved in on my thinking that seriously affected me for some 20 years. A law was set in motion. As a result, my flesh gradually became boss over my entire being.

Don't let Satan use the strategy of lasciviousness on you. Make up your mind and heart today to obey God in the little things. Avoid big failures by walking in His Spirit one small step at a time. Major victories will eventually be yours.

Ephesians 4:22-31

Science and Religion By Billy Graham
He reveals profound mysteries beyond man's understanding. He knows all hidden things, for he is light . . .
—Daniel 2:22 (TLB)

The fact of the matter is that science and faith complement each other, and there is no conflict between true science and true religion. Together they give the best foundation for wholesome faith and courage for daily living. When Galileo, the father of modern science, discovered that the earth revolved, instead of the sun moving around the earth, certain religious leaders were greatly disturbed, for they held another theory. But eventually they were reconciled.

Since that day we have happily found that true science is compatible with a deep religious faith. So Christianity is what we might term: supra-scientific. There are highways beyond science that lead to truth. Christ Jesus was the Master of spiritual truth, and He imparts these truths to us-as we work out a working relationship with Him.

Are your beliefs rooted in Jesus?

Find more answers on science and religion.

Prayer for the day
Thank You, Father, for the revelation of Your love when You gave Your beloved Son to die for me. Nothing science will ever discover will surpass this divine miracle!

Salvation Is a Gift; You Don’t Work for a Gift by Rick Warren
”All need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ” (Romans 3:24 NCV).

If you were to ask a hundred people on the sidewalk, “How do you get to heaven?” you’d get a lot of different answers that could be summarized by the idea that you have to earn your way to heaven. You’d hear things like, “Try to be good and do your best” or “Work really hard at being a moral person” or “Do more good things than bad things in life.” All of these ideas are based on works, not grace.
But salvation is a gift, and you don’t work for a gift. It’s free! You can’t earn it, you can’t buy it, and you can’t work for it.

This is a fundamental difference between Christianity and every other religion. Christianity is the only religion that’s built on grace. Every other religion is based on works, and you can summarize them in one word: “do.” There are certain things you have do in order to gain God’s approval, to gain bliss, to gain heaven. There are always rules, regulations, and rituals—something you have to do.

On the other hand, one way you could summarize Christianity is with the word “done.” Jesus Christ has already paid the price for you on the cross. It’s done!

A guy asked me one time, “Pastor Rick, what can I do to be saved?” I said, “You’re too late!” (That kind of shocked him.) “You’re about 2,000 years too late! What needed to be done for your salvation has already been done, and you can’t do anything about it.”

Jesus Christ already did it. He paid for your salvation on the cross, and it’s now a free gift that’s offered to you. That’s why when Jesus was hanging on the cross, he said, “It is finished.” He didn’t say, “I am finished,” because he wasn’t. He’s still alive today. The “it” is your salvation. The plan to provide grace for every person is finished.

Romans 3:24 says, “All need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ” (NCV).

You won’t get to heaven based on what you do. You get to heaven based on what has already been done for you by Jesus Christ.

When we really understand grace, we’ll accept it, because it is the greatest gift we’re ever going to be offered.

PLAY today’s audio teaching from Pastor Rick
Talk It Over

Why do you think so many people view salvation and forgiveness as something they must work for, instead of a free gift they can choose to accept?
After we’ve accepted God’s gift of salvation, why is it important to tell others about that gift, too?
How has your life changed as you’ve gained a clearer understanding of God’s grace?

Choose Faith Today by Joel Osteen
"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
(Joshua 1:9, NLT)

TODAY'S WORD:

In the same way that faith opens the door for God to work in our lives, fear opens the door for the enemy to work in our lives.

The Bible says that fear brings torment. Fear has no mercy. If you act on fear instead of acting on faith, it will keep you depressed, miserable and lonely. So many people today are missing out on God's joy, peace and victory because they keep giving in to fear. They feed fear by what they watch on TV or read in the news or on the internet. Don't let that be you! Romans tells us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. The more you fill your heart and mind with God's Word, the stronger your faith will be so you can stand against the powers of darkness. Choose faith instead of fear by choosing God's Word.

Remember, the power that is in you is greater than the power of fear. When thoughts come that say, "You're not able," choose faith by saying, "I can do all things through Christ!" Choose faith, overcome fear and live in the freedom God has in store for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, I receive Your Word today which is life, health and strength to me. I choose to close the door on fear by guarding what I say, listen to, and dwell on. Fill me with Your love and faith as I meditate on Your Word in Jesus' name. Amen.
