Exodus 4:2–3
So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.” And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.
God wants to take the natural things in your life and make them supernaturally blessed. He does this by asking you to give Him what you already have in the natural, and He will do the supernatural.

That is why the Lord told Moses to cast his rod on the ground. And when Moses cast his rod on the ground, which represents him giving the rod to the Lord, that same rod became the rod of God. With that rod, the Red Sea was opened. (Exodus 14:16) And when that rod was used to hit a rock, water flowed out of the rock. (Exodus 17:5–6) It was no longer a natural rod, but the supernatural rod of God!

But why did the rod become a serpent when Moses cast it to the ground?

Moses never realized that there was a “snake” in his rod. You see, because of the fall of man, there is a touch of the curse—a snake—in every natural thing, including your career, natural strength, talents and ministry.

So how do you deal with the “snake” that is in all the natural things in your life?

First, cast it to the Lord. Then, do what the Lord told Moses next: “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail”. (Exodus 4:4)

Now, it could be fatal to take a snake by its tail because it can easily turn its head around and bite you. So why did God say that?

When you take it by the tail, God will take the head! He wants you to let Him handle the head, and not grab it or hold on to it tightly in fear or self-effort. That is how you see your career, strength, talents and ministry supernaturally blessed.

Beloved, there is a snake, a touch of the curse, in everything in the natural. But give what is natural to the Lord and see the touch of the curse replaced with the supernatural touch of God!

God opens doors of opportunities for each and every one of us everyday to serve Him in a greater capacity. But He doesn’t open these doors of opportunity for no reason. God always has a purpose for what He does.

Why does He give us these opportunities? So that He will be glorified in everything we do. He wants us to be blessed so we can be a blessing. God wants us to be able to help others. When we can do that, it brings glory to Him. It makes Him look attractive to the world.

Someone once said that the secret to success is to be ready for the opportunities that come into your life. I believe that God wants us to become more sensitive to the opportunities that are being presented to us.

I have seen people come to meetings where the Word of God is being preached and do nothing with it. And yet, there are others who sit in the same meetings, experience the same anointing, hear the same Word, and they seize the opportunity to apply it to their lives. If you examine their lives a year later, you see their lives are better. They have progressed, and the blessing of God is abounding at a greater level in their lives. However, the lives of the people who did nothing with the message are the same as, or worse than, before.

The difference is that some chose to seize the opportunity of the Word and some did not. Which one will you be today? Remember, God always has a purpose. He has a plan when He presents you with opportunities. Be still and hear His voice.”

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin;but the Spirit is life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10).

Being born again, you have nothing to fear, because the Holy Spirit lives in you. There’s a divine impact of His divine presence and power on your physical body that keeps it immune to sickness, diseases, and infirmities. Even at the worst case scenario: if your physical body has already
been so ravaged, battered and bruised by sickness and disease, the Holy Spirit will revitalise and restore life back to it. That’s what we read in our opening verse. A better rendering is, “But if Christ lives in you, though your body be dead because of sin, the Spirit gives it life because of
righteousness.”

The Holy Spirit raised the dead body of Jesus back to life; that same Spirit lives in you today. Romans 8:11 says, “And if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead, lives in you, that same Spirit shall give life to your mortal body.” This isn’t something futuristic; it’s something
that happened at the instant the Holy Spirit took up His abode in you; He gave life to your hitherto mortal body. Your physical body is actually not mortal—death-doomed—anymore.

Therefore, if today you’re suffering terribly with sickness and disease, act on the Word. The power to make you whole isn’t coming from heaven; it’s in you. Declare, “The Holy Spirit lives in me and has given life to my physical body. My whole being is vitalised and energised by the divine power of the One who perambulates in me!” It makes no difference what the case is; if the health condition is so bad that you can’t declare it out loud, whisper it! If it’s so serious that you can’t even whisper, think it in your mind! When you whisper or contemplate it long enough, the Holy Spirit will overshadow you as He did the dead body of Jesus, and revitalise your entire being.

Understand something: the Holy Spirit is God, and He actually lives in you. That means the Healer, not just the healing power, lives in you! That settles the issue of sickness and disease forever. Therefore, if death has attacked your body through sickness, disease or infirmity, you have nothing
to fear or worry about; trust the Healer in you to take care of it. He’ll restore you back to life! Glory to God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the divine impact of your Spirit—the Healer—on my physical body. I
refuse to fear, for His presence in me paralyses, destroys, eliminates and dispels every form of sickness, disease or infirmity.

Therefore, from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, I’m whole, sound, and excellent, in
Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Message:
The first instruction that God usually gives to any appointed spokespersons in the Bible is to be bold. Moses, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel were all enjoined to be bold and courageous to face the task ahead of them. This is simply because human beings are always rebellious to God’s commandments, this is more so with the rich, powerful and influential people in the society. Without boldness, it becomes difficult to speak against such prominent people out of fear of reprisal. However, when God surrounds your life with His presence as a mountain, you become immune to all attacks of your enemies.

It is not that they won’t try; but their attempts will fail. Many believers take God’s protection for granted, because it is not physical or tangible to them, however, it is very visible to their enemies who operate in the negative spiritual realm. For so long, Satan desired to harm Job but could not, because of the protective wall he called a hedge.

“Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.”
Job 1:10

The enemy knows that areas God’s protection covers in the lives of believers. They know the areas that are exposed, and it is those exposed parts that they usually target. If you are toying with sin, you are gradually exposing yourself to the enemies.

From Satan’s reply, he must have been frustrated in previous attempts to harm Job. He could touch just anybody else but Job. As long as you are inside the protective cover of the Lord, the enemies will be frustrated concerning you. They will look for every opportunity to strike at you, but finding none, they will attempt to distract you from the path of holiness into sin. If they can succeed in getting you to sin and especially get you to continue in that sin, God will withdraw, and they will take over. Ensure you remain under His cover.

Prayer point
Father, please, help me never to shed Your covering over me in Jesus’ name.

“Come to the Lord, the living stone rejected by people as worthless but chosen by God as valuable” (1 Peter 2:4 GNT).

God says that not only are you accepted; you’re also valuable!

How much do you think you’re worth? I’m not talking about your net worth; I’m talking about your self-worth. Don’t ever confuse your valuables with your value as a person. You can be rich or poor, but it has nothing to do with your value as a person.

Two things determine value in life:

1. Value is what someone is willing to pay for something.

2. Value depends on who has owned something in the past.

Based on these two things, what’s your value? Ask yourself, “Who owns me?” and “What was paid for me?” The Bible says, “You have been bought and paid for by Christ, so you belong to him” (1 Corinthians 7:23a TLB).

You belong to God, and Jesus paid for you with his life. The Cross proves your value.

Nobody has ever paid a greater ransom than God paid for you! You’re acceptable, and you’re valuable.

Peter uses the imagery of a building project to illustrate our value. God is building this stone building that represents the Church, the family of God, and you’re one of the stones. “Come to the Lord, the living stone rejected by people as worthless” (1 Peter 2:4a TEV). Jesus is the living stone. He was perfect, but some people still rejected him. Some of you may think, “If I could just be perfect, then I would be accepted.” No! Jesus was perfect, but even he wasn’t accepted by everyone. But he was “chosen by God as valuable.”

God is building his Church, but it’s not found in temples or church buildings. God lives in people, and you are his spiritual house. Peter says that you’re a living stone. When you give your life to Christ, you become a building block in God’s great plan.

Talk It Over

How does understanding a Christian’s value in God’s eyes change the way you treat yourself and other believers?
What is the evidence in your life that you have grasped the freedom that comes from being ransomed by Jesus Christ?
Once you stop trying to earn God or anyone else’s approval, how can you instead spend that energy by sharing this message of God’s approval with others?

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer....I have overcome the world.

John 16:33, The Amplified Bible

Jesus said as long as you live in the world, you're going to have trouble. (I can vouch for that!) But you're not just in the world. You're in Jesus in the world, and that makes all the difference. You're in Him and He's overcome every kind of trouble there is.

As God's child, you're not the defeated trying to get victory. You're the overcomer, and Satan's trying to rob you of the victory that already belongs to you.

When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you were born into victory... because the Victor came to live in you. Think about it. The victorious Jesus. The Anointed One. The glorified and resurrected Lord. The Ruler of the Universe.

Cheer up, my friend. Have "perfect peace and confidence." That's Jesus who lives in you!
