His Representation by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

When you study the epistles, you really don’t find Christians being referred to as disciples.

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren (Hebrews 2:11).

When you study the epistles, you really don’t find Christians being referred to as disciples. Now, there’s nothing wrong in the generic use of the term “disciples” for Christians, because even Acts 11:26 says, “…And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” The disciples apparently lived amongst the people, not just as followers, but as icons of Christ. So, in reality, our description isn’t that of followers, but of ambassadors; the representation of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).

We’re the icons of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus is exactly like the Father. He said in John 10:30, “I and my Father are one.” He’s the full representation or perfect imprint of the Father; the express image of His person (Hebrews 1:3). The Bible says as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). The question is, “How is Jesus? How did He live when He walked the earth?” He subdued the world; He dominated circumstances. He never complained; rather, He changed things! He lived triumphantly every day.

As His ambassador—His representation—you ought to live as an agent of change like the Master. Speak faith-filled words; dominate circumstances and subdue this world. He has said nothing shall be impossible unto you; live every day with that mind-set. You’re today the effulgence of His glory, the epitome and expression of His righteousness. When you show up, Christ shows up; His blessings manifest.

This was God’s dream from the beginning, to manifest Himself, not only in you, but also through you. He seeks to bless the world and show forth His goodness, grace, wisdom, and excellence through you. So, everywhere you are, manifest the life of Christ! Let Him laugh, smile, and touch others through you.

CONFESSION I know who I am! I’m a new creation in Christ Jesus, born with the life and nature of God. I’m the icon of the resurrected Christ. I manifest His glory, perfections and grace everywhere. I’m a partaker of the divine nature. Hallelujah!
