A Canopy Over My People by Tammy Lang Jensen
I am like a canopy over my people. I offer shade from the sun and protection from the rain. That you might be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45).

We all experience good times and bad. But we as children of God have a protector from them all. We run to you in times of trouble, you are a protector, our high tower, our safe refuge.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliver; my God is my rock, and whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold (psalm 18:2). If God be for me, who dare be against me; why should I be afraid, what can mere man do to me. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and Buckler (Psalm 91:4). Your time and talent are needed in My kingdom, will you answer the call?

If God had a HELP WANTED AD, it might go something like this: Looking for Men and Women, no age requirement. Must be diligent, steadfast, trustworthy, loyal and determined. We believe in second and third chances. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty (1 Corinthians 1:27). Be willing to travel, looking for adventure, and have your plans changed at a moments notice. Must be willing to be talked about and love anyway.

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me (Matthew 5:11). Must not be squeamish about snakes, scorpions, demons, principalities of darkness and serpents. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and overcome ALL the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you (Luke 10:19).

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). You must be willing to take a hit in battle and get back up. The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from One Direction but flee from you in seven (Deuteronomy 28:7).

If any nation comes to fight you, it is not because I sent them. Whoever attacks you will go down in defeat (Isaiah 54:15). The Lord always causes us to triumph. Victory is mine, saith the Lord, victory is mine! Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9). Remember, when you work for God. You always have a Boss that will back you up....
