Christ came that we may have life, and have it more abundantly.  Join John E. Thomas as he dives into what an abundant life in Christ looks like.

God challenges us because He desires to change us. If we want to change, then we have to be challenged to operate outside of our norm and embrace a new perspective.

Open Heavens: Watch Your Nutrition by Pastor E. A. Adeboye

MEMORISE: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vein deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  Colossians 2:8

Read: 2nd peter 2:1-3
1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Bible in one year:
Isaiah 24-27;
Mark 15:33-16:8,

Hymnal:
sing Hymn 15

Message:
As Christians living in these end times, we have to be very careful of the source and nature of what we allow into our minds.

In today’s Bible reading, the Holy Spirit warns us to be wary of false prophets that will arise from among the people, secretly bringing up destructive heresies with the aim of taking the people’s focus away from Christ. Many of the sermons preached in today’s churches are focused on prosperity, Faith, grace, deliverance, and so on. l have no problem with these topics; they are essential parts 0f the Good News. However, many preachers discuss them to such extremes that the resultant effect is a bunch of malnourished souls in the Church today. These preachers are out to satisfy their own motives, and so they twist scriptures to fit their own message, to look good in the sight of people and to get gifts from them, The Holy Spirit spoke about such preachers in Romans 16:1 8, saying:
“For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

As a Heaven bound child of God, your spiritual nutrition is of utmost importance. If you are not well nourished spiritually in your local assembly, or you notice that your spiritual growth is stunted, then it is time for you to leave that assembly and prayerfully look for another place where your spiritual needs will be met. You must avoid churches where the lifestyle of Christ is not preached.

Steer clear of churches where the death and resurrection of Jesus are never preached. Shun sermons that encourage tribalism, and be careful of churches that glorify any individual or individuals other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. The early apostles preached nothing but Jesus Christ. Paul himself said in 1 Corinthians 2:2:

”For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”
Run away from preachers whose sermons leave you comfortable in your sins. Holy living must be emphasized in whatever church you prayerfully decide to join, and the Bible must be upheld as the foundation of the church’s doctrines. The Holy Spirit must be the one who leads and directs the activities in your chosen church: this is a sign that God is present there. If you are presently under the influence of a destructive preacher, I pray for you today that the Lord wilt redeem you and connect you with Spirit-led preachers in Jesus’ Name.

Action point:
Take a look at your present church. If your spiritual growth has not increased significantly since you joined them, prayerfully look for another church where your spiritual needs will be met.

The Christ-Environment by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances (Colossians 2:20).

The Apostle Paul had come to a climactic point in his discussion with the Christians in Colossae in the verse above. Notice again his communication: “…if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances.” Amazing and profound: the Christian doesn’t live in this world; in this natural plane of life! Hallelujah!

You’re therefore not supposed to be affected, ruled or influenced by the rudiments of this world; the vagaries of life and nature can’t, and shouldn’t, impact on you because you’re from another plane; a different environment; the Christ-environment.

In the Old Testament, after the children of Israel left Egypt and journeyed through the desert, they carried their own atmosphere with them. Even though they were in the desert, they were unaffected, unblemished, and untainted by the severity and debilitating effects of the desert. During the day, they had a cloud as their covering against the scorching sun, and at night, there was a pillar of fire shielding them from the biting cold. They were in a different environment. How glorious!

Being born again, you have something far more glorious: you’re in “Christ.” Christ is a place, an environment. You were born into the environment called Christ, when you were born again. In that environment, life is different; everything is pure and perfect; there’s no failure, weakness, defeat, sickness, disease, poverty or any of the negativities of life! All you have is glory, righteousness, life and immortality, joy, health, peace, prosperity, and abundance!

The Christ-environment is the kingdom of heaven. You have absolute mastery over circumstances; you’re never subject to the principles of this world, because you really don’t live in this world. This is the understanding that the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, is passing to us in our theme verse. You live “in,” and from, heaven. Therefore, set your focus on things above; things that are pertinent to the heavenly realm to which you belong, and from which you play. Hallelujah!

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me a citizen of heaven, living by heavenly principles. I live in the Christ-environment, where all I have and experience are glory, righteousness, life and immortality, joy, health, peace, prosperity, and abundance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Bless the Lord by Gloria Copeland
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Hebrews 13:15

Great things happen when you continually confess the mercy of God. Faith rises up on the inside of you. The reality that God loves you begins to sing through your spirit.

What's more, it brings honor to your Father when you believe His Word and magnify His love and mercy. You honor Him when you speak of His goodness and lovingkindness, when you talk about Him as your Father of love who does only good. It blesses Him when you praise Him as the great God of the universe who is eager to bless and who even gave His own Son because He so loved the world.

David was a man after God's own heart. He knew how to praise his God. Until you have the Word dwelling in you richly so that you can speak psalms and praises out of your own spirit, use the praises of David to magnify God. Speak them or sing them out loud to the Father.

Put His words continually on your lips. You will soon begin to experience the thrill and the joy of realizing that God is indeed "rich in mercy" because of His great love with which He loved us. Your faith will rise to new heights and your Father will be blessed! And you will be blessed.

Our Defeated Foe by Billy Graham
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword . . .
—Hebrews 4:12

How do we overcome the devil in everyday life? First, we need to recognize that the devil is a defeated foe. The Son of God came to undo the work of the devil. The crucifixion of Christ, which looked like a mighty victory for Satan, turned out to be a great triumph for God, because it was on the cross that Jesus took your sins and my sins.

God laid our sins on Christ, so that when our Lord bowed His head and said, “It is finished,” He was referring to the plan of redemption and salvation. Then . . . we are to resist the devil. If we resist him, Scripture says, he will flee from us. Jesus overcame the devil not by argument but simply by quoting Scripture. That is why it is so important to learn and memorize Scripture passages.

Are you struggling with temptation? Read this story about how to defeat it.

Prayer for the day
Thank You, heavenly Father, for the protection of Your Word as I face everyday temptations.

Walking With Lions by Deborah Waldron Fry
Beloved. You were born to walk with LIONS. I have not given you the spirit of fear, but of LOVE, POWER and a SOUND MIND.

When the devil roars at you, ignore him, My Child. He is like a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

He is just a noise to distract you; a toothless lion who is all bark and no bite. Know that I surround you with My Glory. I am your Hiding Place. The atmosphere of heaven is your dwelling place. Ignore the voices of fear and dread and anger and violence. My favor surrounds you as a shield. My Glory is in you and upon you. You are Mine, Dear One. You know My Voice. I am Comforter, Lover, Helper, Encourager, Teacher, Protector. Reject any voice which brings fear; for fear has torment.

The devil is a liar and the father of lies. Perfect Love casts out fear. Oh, if you could see yourself as I see you, My Mighty Warrior. You are a force to be reckoned with and the enemy knows it. For you have died to self, been raised up with Me, and filled with the Holy Spirit of the living triumphant Savior! Cast the spirit of fear away from you, My Love. Cast him away and give him no more thought for he is a defeated foe and you are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you. GREATER is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Let your faith roar louder than the fear! The Lion of Judah has your back, Beloved. My Righteousness goes before you and My Glory is your rear guard!

REAR GUARD: A military force positioned at the rear of a body of troops to protect and defend the army from attack; The term can also be used to describe forces protecting lines, such as COMMUNICATION lines behind an army. :D

...1 John 4:5For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.
...2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
...1 Peter 5:8-9 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

...John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.

...Romans 8:15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"

...Isaiah 58:8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

New Wine by Tammy Lang Jensen
I prophesy pain-free days to your future. I say you will leap like a calf let out to pasture.

What the enemy meant for your harm, I am turning around for your good.

I declare the storm clouds are breaking, and the sun is shining through. The joy of the Lord is your strength and you will stand and testify to the goodness of the Lord.

And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death (Revelation 12:11). He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds (Psalm 147:3). But I will restore you to health and heal you of your wounds, declares the Lord. Because they have called you an outcast, saying, “It is Zion; no one cares for her” (Jeremiah 30:17). I long for your affection, your declaration of loyalty. Your determination to follow me no matter the cost. Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; he is just an endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey(Zechariah 9:9).

The Lord said as you learn to walk in power and authority, yet take no credit. You will heal the sick, cast out demons, and bring salvation to the lost. I hear, “He cannot fill us until we just give it all away.” Our time, money, resources, our right to be right. Lay it all at the altar, and watch me go to work. The Lord said, you are so loved, beyond measure, beyond comprehension. I take authority over every power of darkness that is trying to delay your destiny. And command it to go right now In the Name of Jesus.

All power and authority is in God’s hands and he will not let you be one minute late. You will arrive on time to witness His power in your life. Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! (Psalm 66:5). May the goodness of the Lord chase you down and overtake you all the days of your life.

Behold, days are coming, declares the Lord, when the plowman will overtake the reaper and the treaded of grapes, the sower of seed. When the mountains will drip with sweet wine, and all the hills will be dissolved (Amos 9:13). In the crushing, and the pressing, there is NEW WINE....

Stay Focused on God’s Plan for Your Life by Rick Warren
”Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62 TLB).

I have met thousands of people who’ve told me they want to be used by God but who will never be used by God. Why? They’re too busy. They’ve got their own agenda going. They’ve got their plans and dreams and ambitions, and they don’t have any time! In the midst of their busyness, they try to carve out a little sliver from the pie of life and say, “I’ll give this to God.” But it doesn’t work that way.

If you’re serious about being used by God, you have to say, “Lord, what do I need to let go of? What do I need to cut out? What barriers are holding me back and keeping me from running the race you have for me?”

Lots of different barriers will hold you back from God’s plan for your life. One of the biggest categories: distractions. Jesus said in Luke 9:62, “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the kingdom of God” (TLB).

Here are a few of the many things that could distract you from your life mission:

The expectations of other people. You’ve got to decide whom you’re going to please first in life. You can only have one number one.

Hobbies. There’s nothing wrong with these things. But if they distract you from the most important things, then you need to let go of them.

Your past. Maybe you refuse to let go of your past—whether it’s guilt or resentment or grief. But if you’re stuck in the past, you cannot get on with the present, and you certainly can’t get on with God’s future for you. Your past is past. It’s over! You need to let it go.

What do you need to let go of? The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:23, “‘Everything is permissible,’ but not everything is helpful” (HCSB). What does that mean? It means this: A lot of things aren’t necessarily wrong; they’re just not necessary. Life often means choosing either “Am I going to do something good?” or “Am I going to do what’s best?”

If the Devil can’t make you bad, he’ll make you busy. He’ll get you so busy that you don’t have time for the important stuff—time alone with God, ministry, and mission.

You need to simplify your life and eliminate distractions so God can use you. Don’t try to do it all. Do what matters most!

Talk It Over

What are the most important things in your life?
Think of some of the good things that you’ve put first in your life. How have they distracted you from the most important things and from God’s mission for you?
Why are we so easily distracted by seemingly good things that are not God’s best for us?

"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?"
(Isaiah 43:19, NLT)

TODAY'S WORD:

God wants His people to be the most blessed! He wants His people to increase so they can live as an example of His goodness. But in order to partake of everything He has in store for us, we have to be open to what He wants to do in our lives. We have to have a vision for increase. If you’re not expecting favor, if you just get satisfied with where you are, then you're living below your privileges. But if you will get a vision for increase, a vision of who you are as a child of the Most High God, you’ll see supernatural opportunities, favor and increase in your life.

Today, take time to focus your thoughts on God and His promises. Meditate on His Word. Look for what He is doing and receive the blessings He has in store for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, right now I choose to set my mind and heart on You. I choose to look for what You want to do in and through me. I let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes or actions that would hold me back in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Expect a Turnaround by Joyce Meyer
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

— Psalm 16:11 (AMP)

This verse is part of the story of how God promoted Joseph to a place of power after his brothers had sold him into slavery. It is a great testament to God’s desire and ability to overcome evil with good.

Joseph’s brothers meant to destroy him, but Joseph became second in command to Pharaoh and was used by God to save not only his own family but many thousands of others.

Sometimes you forget how big your God is. Whatever may have happened to you in the past, you must understand it doesn’t have to dictate your future. Set your faith and trust in God and watch to see how He will turn it around for your good. Rejoice! God has a good plan for your life.

Prayer Starter: Father, thank You that You are fair, even when life’s not fair. Help me to put the past behind me and trust You to work everything out for my good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Kingdom by John Hagee
Acts 5:29
Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!

Satan knows that if you, like Joseph, survive the pit and head for the palace, you will shape the destiny of the world, so he will try to crush you right now…before you are able to make a Kingdom difference.

Satan will find the part of your life that is most vulnerable and attack there. He can pinpoint your weakness and use your fears against you if you aren't surrounding yourself daily with God's promises, putting on the full armor of God.

Yet just as the Lord did for Joseph, He can use it for His very best--for YOUR very best--what the enemy means for evil. Satan manipulated the hatred and jealousy that Joseph's brothers harbored against him to push Joseph into the pit; God brought Joseph through the pit and to the next level of spiritual revelation and growth. The brothers unknowingly revolutionized Joseph's relationship with God and gave him more power and favor than ever before.

It is the same with you today. God is using your enemies and obstacles to move you to a higher level of ministry. Don't worry about your circumstances. Good things are about to explode because God is your Father, and favor is born in the womb of obedience. Seek Him first and all of these things will be added unto you.

Trust and Obey by Dr. Charles Stanley
SUNDAY
30
Joshua 6:1-14

One of my favorite hymns is “Trust and Obey” because it sums up God’s purpose for our lives. When we practice these two commands, a beautiful cycle begins. Trusting the Lord makes obedience easier, and obedience produces ever-increasing trust. Can you recall facing a challenge that was difficult or perplexing? If so, you know how important these two commands are.

When the Lord calls you to a task that seems unreasonable, you have two options. You can obey Him even though you don’t understand what will happen, or you can become fearful and attempt to find a way out. Joshua chose the first option. Because he trusted the Lord, he disregarded all his military experience and adopted God’s bizarre battle plan. Over the years, he had learned that the Lord is perfectly trustworthy.

The way we respond to God’s challenging assignments reveals what we believe about Him. We may feel as if we’re right in step with the Lord—until He proposes a change of direction. That’s when our resistance kicks in, along with the realization that we aren’t as close to Him as we thought. At that point, our decision determines whether the Lord will be able to use us as He desires. Joshua decided time and time again that the Lord’s way was better than his own, and he continued to serve the Lord for the remainder of his life.

At times, obedience is a struggle, as the mind considers all the reasons God’s path is illogical. When fear takes over, our reasoning says we should run the other way, and we don’t want to comply. But obedience is always the best choice, because our loving omniscient Father can be trusted.

Forgive by Jerry Savelle
September 30, 2018
I’m sure everyone has been wronged at one time or another. Because of this, we all have a decision to make. We can either let that wrong affect us the rest of our lives and cause us to sit down and wallow in pity. Or we can get up, wipe ourselves off, forgive and keep going.

“Be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” (Colossians 3:13, TLB).

That’s the choice we have to make, and it is never too late to make the right choice!

You cannot expect any change or real growth in your life until you forgive and let go. Give it all to God. Do not pick up that load of anger, resentment, hurt, shame, guilt or whatever it may be that you have been struggling with.

It’s not easy to forgive when you have been treated badly or abused in some way, but it is necessary. We have no choice if we want our Heavenly Father to forgive us of our wrongdoings.

You do not have to suffer the rest of your life for past mistakes or for other’s past mistakes. Your past does not have to be your future. God is a restorer and He will restore all that you have lost if you will seek Him and believe His Word.

Confession: I choose to forgive. I choose to let go of that person or that situation completely. I forgive by faith and by an act of my will and refuse to be influenced by my feelings. I am free.

The 12 Wells And 70 Palm Trees by Joseph Prince
Exodus 15:27

Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there by the waters.

Would you like to know an important biblical key to divine health? It is found in today’s verse, which comes right after God says, “I am the Lord who heals you.” He said this to His people after He brought them out of Egypt (see Exodus 15:26).

The wells of water and palm trees speak of refreshment. They paint a picture of an oasis in the desert. The Israelites rested and were refreshed there. But why the numbers 12 and 70?

There are no insignificant details in the Bible. The 12 wells of water and 70 palm trees represent anointed ministries that refresh you with God’s Word. So if you want to know Jesus as the Lord who heals you, sit under anointed preaching of God’s Word because when His Word goes forth, it will heal you. His Word is medicine to all your flesh (see Proverbs 4:22)!

How did I make that connection? Let the Bible interpret the Bible. Matthew 10:1 says that when Jesus had “called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” He sent out the 12 and said to them, “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons...” (Matthew 10:7–8).

Then, in Luke 10:1, the Lord “appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.” He also said to the 70, “And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you’” (Luke 10:9).

In other words, Jesus anointed the 12 and then the 70 disciples to preach God’s Word and heal the sick. Today, if you want refreshment, if you want health and healing, don’t sit under ministries that tell you that God doesn’t always want to heal and that He sometimes gives you diseases to teach you lessons. Instead, sit under anointed ministries that preach the good news and practice healing the sick. My friend, that is how you can begin to walk in divine health!

This book gives a biblical basis for a potential new reformation of the Church that will result in massive rethinking of the Gospel.

God is our Heavenly Father and He is much more gracious than we have been led to believe! Christ's work to redeem us was thorough and absolute.

God has given us access to his reality through the blood of Jesus Christ and there is a path to his presence and it is a path that is accessible to every one of us, and God has invited us to walk it.How do we walk in the path of the presence of God?

Brooke Ligertwood teaches us that we can do so by finding ourselves continually in the word of God, filling our hearts with the truth that is found in scripture for our lives.

As we worship God we discover more of who God is and more of who we are. We find a continual revelation of who Jesus is. A true encounter with God is transformative. When we step into the presence of God and have an encounter with him it changes the way we walk.

You Are On A Mission by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:15-16).

The Lord has given us a vision, a very clear vision, and each of us is on a mission, and the clarity of that mission is so important. Everything you’re about must be in pursuance of your God-given purpose on earth. Read our opening scripture again, and see your purpose on earth: it’s the salvation of lost souls. You’re the one ordained and appointed by God to take the message of Christ’s salvation to your world and beyond.

2 Corinthians 5:19-20 says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ….” This is your mission on earth. Refuse to allow anything to distract you from it, for it’s your primary responsibility; it’s the purpose for your life; be focused on it.

The Lord needs you; He’s kept you on this earth because He has many others He wants to reach through you. Take the Gospel to your world. Keep sharing the good news with those around you, because like Paul, “Necessity is laid upon you to preach the Gospel” (1 Corinthians 9:16); therefore, do it with boldness and fervency.

The salvation and well-being of mankind is the most important thing to God, and it was for that reason He gave His Son to be crucified for the sins of men. 2 Peter 3:9 says, God “…is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” But God can’t save anyone without the Gospel; His power to save is wrapped up in the Gospel of His grace which He’s committed to you to preach and teach.

Let your life count for the Gospel. No matter where you’re functioning; no matter what you do, take that as your mission field; that’s the place God has given you for the now, for the moment, to minister His Word.

PRAYER Dear Father, you created me as your workmanship, in Christ Jesus unto good works. I’m on a mission of establishing your Kingdom in the hearts of men, bringing them out of darkness into your marvellous light! Thank you for this awesome privilege of being a partner with you in soul winning, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The WOUNDED WARRIOR is what God placed on my heart this morning. I am “El-Roi” the God who Sees. I see all your gaping bleeding wounds.

Past hurts, sins, jealousy, greed, offense, and what I call “toilet promises”. Those things cried out to me while you are sick and on your knees. But the moment you are better you forget the promise and carry-on in your sin. These are all things that corrupt the heart and wound the soul.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Matthew 10:28). So as you stand there and put on make up, a smile and your Sunday best, hiding your pain away from the world. Know that your Father in heaven sees his WOUNDED WARRIOR. His heart for you is compassion, to see you healed and set free.

When I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said to you while you were in your blood, ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you while you were in your blood, ‘Live!’ (Ezekiel 16:6). The Lord is sending out an altar call to every WOUNDED WARRIOR on the battlefield. Come and lay your burdens down and get back up.

This is a call to arms, I need you in the field. You can’t hide in the cave forever, you will die in the dark; you need the Sonshine! Go out this day, and take out two demons for every one that tormented you. Say to the devil, no more backing down, laying down, or falling down. I am getting up and putting my combat boots back on. And you will crush the head of the serpent with your heel. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and overcome ALL the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you (Luke 10:19). Come get shoulder to shoulder with your brothers and sisters in Christ. There is strength in your numbers and power in your UNITY....

My Fountain by Deborah Waldron Fry
I saw many water wells. They were dark and the water was not good in them. The people were running from well to well, but still thirsty. And I saw a great Fountain in the middle of these wells, shining with a great Light.

And I saw that the Living Waters in this Fountain of Life had music in it. I asked the Holy Spirit what this meant and I heard," My Voice is the Sound of many waters. I am your strength and your Song. Come and drink freely once again with JOY from the Wells of Salvation."

"Beloved. You have not even realized how thirsty you are, My Child. The cares of this world have drawn you away from Me. The cisterns of the world are broken and not only broken but some are even poisonous to your body, mind, and soul. Renew your mind, Dear One, with the washing of the Word. I am your Fountain of Life. Only My Living Waters are pure and full of JOY. Yes, JOY is bubbling in My Fountain. Health is bubbling in My Fountain. LIFE is bubbling forth unto you, My Child. No longer drink from the wells of the knowledge of this world, which corrupt the mind and sicken the heart, but drink once again with JOY from the wells of Salvation; from Him who is the Fountain of Life.

My Water enlightens the eyes of your heart and strengthens your body and mind. I am your strength and your song. There is heavenly Music in these Living Waters. For My Voice is the Sound of many Waters, singing over you in joyous exultation. As you drink from My River of delights, a new song shall come forth. A song of joyous victory. It is the Song of the Spirit of God that you will be singing. Come to the Good Waters, Beloved, come freely and drink to your heart's content."

To your heart's content: to do something enjoyable for as long as you want to do it: to the full extent of one's desires.

...Psalm 36:8They feast on the abundance of Your house, and you give them drink from the River of Your delights. 9For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.

...Isaiah 12:2“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation.” 3With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

...Revelation 1:15A... and His voice as the sound of many waters.
...Ezekiel 43:2 and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of many waters, and the earth shone with His glory.

...Revelation 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps.
...Zephaniah 3:17

...Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And the one hearing, let him say, "Come!" And the one thirsting let him come; the one desiring, let him take freely the water of life.

Open Heavens: Private and Public Ministry by Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Sunday September 30th 2018
Memorise: And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. Matthew 14:23
Read: Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV)
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Read: Acts 13:1-2 (KJV)
1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Message:
I would like to share an important truth with you today. To be effective in your assignment in life, you need both a private and public ministry.

In private, you minister to the Lord with prayers and fasting, like Anna and the prophets and teachers in Antioch did (Luke 2:36-37). Many spiritual battles won in public were settled in the place of private spiritual warfare. A good example to show the importance of private ministry is when Moses confronted the Amalekites in the place of private intercession. Moses was still grapping with the grumbling and murmuring of the people he was leading when the Amalekites confronted them with war. Immediately, he activated both a private and public ministry to tackle the Amalekites. He told Joshua to lead the physical battle, while he and his two lieutenants went into private spiritual warfare. Confirming the popular saying that the spiritual controls the physical, Exodus 17:11 says:

“And it came to pass, when Moses help up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”

We can safely conclude that there is no success in public ministry without a solid private ministry. This principle is constant and relevant from generation to generation. It also applies to people in business. Even our Lord Jesus Christ combined these two dimensions of ministry, as seen in today’s memory verse. After public ministration, our Lord would retreat to His private ministry of prayer, where He recharged His spiritual battery.

However, private ministry without public ministry is like a sumptuous meal that is not brought into the banquet hall for consumption. As revealed in our Bible text, our light is not meant to be hidden under a bushel. We must be wary of being lopsided as Christians. Some of us even say “I am called to be this and not that,” thereby limiting the extent to which the Lord can use us. There is no reason a prayer warrior cannot witness to the perishing souls around him or her. In the same vain, an evangelist who claims to be called to propagate the gospel may end up frustrated without a private ministry of intercession for the souls he or she is going out for.

This is because we are not wrestling with flesh and blood when we go out to fulfil our public ministry (Ephesians 6:12). Beloved, God is speaking to you today so that you can fulfil your assignment in life. You can combine giving, which should be done in private, with witnessing. You can combine your evangelism with serious intercession. Make full proof of your calling by engaging in both private and public ministry. God bless you.

Prayer Point:
Introduce a balance into your private and public ministry. How often do you minister to God?
