What if you woke up tomorrow and our largest food importer stopped and supplies were scarce. Now what if you woke up tomorrow to hear the voice of God, but it was nothing but radio silence. Would you wait upon the Lord or would you run around in a panic. You trust the chair you are sitting on to hold you up.
Then why not trust the Lord to never fail you. How many things in your life do you take for granted. The love of a child, a comfortable bed, a hot cup of coffee. We are surrounded by innumerable blessings everyday. Time to count your blessings one by one. The rainbow that appeared in the sky, just when you needed it. You knew it was a promise from him to never leave you or abandon you. Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5). We read the word of God every day which assures us, “GOD IS WITH US!” So why then at the first sign of trouble, do we have weak and trembling knees. Strengthen then the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees (Isaiah 35:3).
Our God is a covenant making God, and what he has promised he will surely do. He is not a man that he should lie or change his mind. So trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). There is a song that says,”Everyday is a winding road.” But God says, he can straighten that path and bring you joy in the morning.
Caleb was a man of faith and obedience. Habron still belongs to the descendants of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite because he wholeheartedly follow the Lord, the God of Israel (Joshua 14:14). For God called you to do good even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps (1 Peter 2:21). Are you willing to suffer for Christ, to give up the comforts of home.
We all want the blessing, but few will endure the suffering with the right attitude. If possible Lord, take this bitter cup from me. But not my will Lord, yours be done. Hallelujah glory to the lamb of God. The servants must be where the Father is, time to go higher. To descend into the heavens and drink from my cup. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you (John 14:2). I place before you life and death, choose life that you might live.
You can live in the valley or you can live on the mountain. But to try and live in between, the climb will wear you out. You need to discern what season you are in, so you know where to build your house. Mountains are high, and valleys are low; but our God is everlasting.
He says, Call to me, and I will answer you and teach you great and unsearchable things you do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). Time to seek Him for your season....
