I hear your midnight cry, My Child. I am He who neither slumbers nor sleeps. I see your tears that fall in the night, when you think no one sees. But I see, Dear One. I gently take each precious tear on My Fingertip and place it in My Bottle.

One day soon, your tears shall stand as a witness against the evil one. Soon, there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things will be passed away. See by faith, My Beloved, that I shall make ALL things new. My Words are faithful and true.

This is who I am. It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I have spoken into your life and breathed into your nostrils and placed My Spirit in your heart. I will not let you down, Little One. I will not fail you. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, My Warrior Bride. Keep fighting, even through the tears. Jesus lived His life by discernment. His discernment was not based on the superficial senses of His flesh—it was the result of His intimate communion and relationship with His Father God.
This same gift of discernment is available to you and me through our relationship with God.

So how does it work? Before you do anything, you must quickly check with your spirit to see if the thing you are about to do is okay. If you have peace, then proceed. But if you are uncomfortable, confused or frustrated, remain still.

For instance, at times I’ve been at the mall getting ready to purchase something, but before I reached the checkout counter, I sensed a frustration in my spirit, which was like a nudge from the Holy Spirit not to make the purchase.

The exciting thing about moments like these is every time you and I choose to listen to and follow the Holy Spirit’s promptings, our spirits grow stronger in God, and more and more of God’s power is released in our lives to operate in the fruit of the Spirit.

Yield to the Holy Spirit and follow His promptings and you will grow in the same discernment that Jesus walked in.

"You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."
(1 Corinthians 6:20, NLT)

TODAY'S WORD:

Scripture says that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor the Lord with our bodies. How do you do that? You take care of it. You respect it. You treat it as valuable. You use your body to bring Him glory. When you stand strong against temptation, you are honoring the Lord with your body. When you take care of yourself by eating properly and getting enough sleep, you are honoring the Lord with your body. You are saying, “Lord, thank You for this gift of life. I am choosing to take care of myself so that I can serve You with my whole heart, mind and strength.”

As we enter into the new year, many people make new goals about their health. Let this be an encouragement to you to stay on track with good habits. As you honor the Lord with your body, you will be strengthened and empowered by His peace. You’ll be able to stand against temptation and embrace the good things He has in store for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, today I choose to honor You with my body. Thank You for the gift of life. Thank You for empowering me against temptation. Show me Your plan for me today so that I can glorify You in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Philippians 3:3-11

Most Christians know the essential facts about their Savior’s life, but too few know Him relationally. Some believers are so busy with activities and pursuits that they rarely think of Jesus until a desperate situation arises.

Yet those who know the Lord intimately have a continually deepening relationship with Him. He’s their top priority, and every possession, accomplishment, or pursuit is worthless compared to knowing Him. Verses 8–10 of today’s passage reveal the results of making Christ our foremost desire:

Increasing hunger: “that I may gain Christ.” Even though Paul had an amazing relationship with Jesus, his passion was so great that he wanted to know the Lord more deeply.

Changed life: “the righteousness which comes from God.” The more we know Christ, the more we’ll mature spiritually and display His righteousness.

Greater capability: “the power of His resurrection.” The Spirit’s power flows through those closely connected to Jesus.

New perspective: “the fellowship of His sufferings.” When we understand Christ, we recognize the benefits He works in us through our times of difficulty.

Victorious living: “being conformed to His death.” Christians who know Jesus well count themselves dead to the sins that once dominated their lives.

Is your life characterized by a deep, abiding passion for Christ, or is your relationship with Him shallow and mechanical? Believers must not let worldly pleasures, opportunities, and responsibilities rob them of the treasure of knowing Jesus. It’s time to count all that as loss and pursue Christ.

Bible in One Year: Revelation 13-17

Exodus 4:2–3

So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.” And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.

God wants to take the natural things in your life and make them supernaturally blessed. He does this by asking you to give Him what you already have in the natural, and He will do the supernatural.

That is why the Lord told Moses to cast his rod on the ground. And when Moses cast his rod on the ground, which represents him giving the rod to the Lord, that same rod became the rod of God. With that rod, the Red Sea was opened. (Exodus 14:16) And when that rod was used to hit a rock, water flowed out of the rock. (Exodus 17:5–6) It was no longer a natural rod, but the supernatural rod of God!

But why did the rod become a serpent when Moses cast it to the ground?

Moses never realized that there was a “snake” in his rod. You see, because of the fall of man, there is a touch of the curse—a snake—in every natural thing, including your career, natural strength, talents and ministry.

So how do you deal with the “snake” that is in all the natural things in your life?

First, cast it to the Lord. Then, do what the Lord told Moses next: “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail”. (Exodus 4:4)

Now, it could be fatal to take a snake by its tail because it can easily turn its head around and bite you. So why did God say that?

When you take it by the tail, God will take the head! He wants you to let Him handle the head, and not grab it or hold on to it tightly in fear or self-effort. That is how you see your career, strength, talents and ministry supernaturally blessed.

Beloved, there is a snake, a touch of the curse, in everything in the natural. But give what is natural to the Lord and see the touch of the curse replaced with the supernatural touch of God!

Jesus said …“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32 NKJV)

As the god of this age, Satan seeks to blind those who are perishing. He also wants to blind the hearts and minds of God’s people to the truth of who they really are in Christ.

Paul addressed this in his letter to the church at Corinth when he said, “whose minds the god of this age has blinded … lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ … should shine on them” (2 Corinthians 2:4 NKJV).

Satan wants to put blinders over your eyes so that you cannot see who you really are in Christ, and one of his most effective tools is religious tradition. That’s why Jesus admonished religious leaders for “making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down” (Mark 7:13 NKJV).

The only thing that can remove Satan’s blinders and break the chains of bondage is truth. And the only valid source for finding truth is the Word of God. By definition, the word truth means “the highest form of reality that exists. Therefore, the Bible is the highest form of reality that exists. The more truth you know, the greater freedom you will enjoy.

God is not hiding truth from you. He has hidden it for you in His Word—all the way from Genesis through Revelation. If you are hungry enough for freedom, then you’ll get into God’s Word.

And if you abide in that Word, it will make you free.

Confession: I declare that I have a fresh hunger for the Word of God. My spiritual eyes are open to the specific truths I personally need today, which God wants to reveal to me.
