Proverbs 19:21—There are many plans in a man's heart, Nevertheless the Lord's counsel; that will stand.
It Makes No Difference What You Have Planned; It’s What God Has Planned For Your Life That’s Going To Succeed
Life without purpose is really a living death.
Romans 8:28 says, “We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” What is your divine purpose? If you have a purpose, then you can pursue it with a passion. But if you have no purpose, you will have no passion, and you will not persevere.
What is sin? In the Greek the word sin literally means to “miss the mark.” Sin is not just committing adultery or robbing banks or beating up people. You sin simply by missing the mark of God in your life. If it’s God’s purpose for you to sing in the choir, you’re living in sin sitting in the pew. You’re missing the purpose of God. If it’s God’s purpose for you to be a home minister and you’d rather play bridge on Thursday night, you’re living in sin. You’re missing the mark of God. The place of God’s purpose is the place of God’s power. Do you want God’s power? Then get where God’s purpose for your life happens to be.
Only God can show you the purpose for your life. The Bible is the manufacturer’s manual for your soul. Go to the maker of your soul and when you’ve found the purpose of God, pursue it with a holy passion.
