Psalm 90:12—Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
On Judgment Day, You And I Are Going To Stand Before God And Answer For The Gap That Exists Between Where We Are And Where We Could Have Been Had We Lived By God’s Plan!
Why don’t we achieve excellence? One reason is that we waste time. The Bible very plainly says in Ephesians 5:15, “Redeem the time.” We don’t achieve excellence because we waste our lives one minute at a time. Time cannot be stored…it cannot be stopped…and it cannot be borrowed. We all wake up every morning with the same amount of time allotted to us.
If you do not control your time, you’re out of control of your life. David said in Psalm 37:23, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” Every day should have a plan. Quit living your life willynilly and start living by divine appointment. When you get up in the morning have something that’s on God’s agenda, and do that.
Every night, before you go to bed, list the ten most important things you have to do the next day, in order of their importance. Then when you get up the next morning, start doing them systematically. Plan your work and work your plan. Killing time is suicide to success. When you kill time, it’s gone forever. My father used to say this to his four sons quite often: “I only want you boys to work a half day, and I don’t care which 12 hours you choose.”
Why don’t we achieve excellence? Because we have a limited vision of what God can do through us? If he could use a donkey to preach to Balaam, then he can use me and he can use you.
