Fear Is A Spirit And It’s From The Devil!
Satan is identified in Scripture as the “roaring Lion seeking whom he may devour” 1 Peter 5:8, as the “serpent” Revelation 12:9, and as having the ability to transform himself “into an angel of light” 2 Corinthians 11:14.
As a “roaring lion” Satan seeks to intimidate believers with a spirit of fear.
Horror movies that plant the seed of fear in the mind of a child have given Satan access to that mind until the spirit of fear is bound by the power of Christ.
As a shining serpent who entered the Garden, Satan has the power to entice people to disobey God’s Word. Ever notice how enticing sin is? Lavish billboards project the drinking of liquor as the express lane to happiness. It does not show the bloody, mutilated bodies of thousands of Americans murdered by drunk drivers.
Satan’s first attack in the Garden of Eden was against the spoken Word of God, saying, “Hath God said…?” Does God’s word really mean that? Satan today is attacking the Word of God full force because it is the only document on the earth that identifies him. It describes how his kingdom functions and how to utterly defeat him. The Bible plainly identifies Satan as a defeated foe and that’s a secret Satan would like to keep from the world.
