Genesis 3:12—And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

People Fail To Stand In The Evil Day Because Their Life Is An Endless Litany Of Excuses
Why do people fail to stand in the evil day?  They play the blame game.  Everything is always somebody else’s fault…my mother’s fault…my wife’s fault…my husband’s fault…God’s fault…the government’s fault.  It’s anybody’s fault but mine.  Adam was the first one to play the blame game.  When Adam found out he was in deep trouble with God, he looked at God and said, “This woman you gave me did this.”  Adam faced his problems like a man:  he blamed it on his wife.

Excuse:  I’m a woman.

A woman was the mother of God.  Nothing in human history can ever match that.  A woman named Esther went before King Artaxerxes to expose a wicked conspiracy and single-handedly saved the nation of Israel.

Excuse:  I’m handicapped.

Joni Eareckson Tada was injured in a diving accident and became a quadriplegic.  In her wheelchair she now travels across the world, telling of God’s goodness and His grace.  She paints, holding the brush in her teeth.  She even sings, and she is a testimony wherever she goes.  Franklin Roosevelt became president of the United States in a wheelchair.  Napoleon was an epileptic.

The teacher of Thomas Edison said he was too stupid to learn.  That ought to encourage some of you parents at report card time.  Beethoven was deaf. The point is this:  quit making excuses and make good.  You are a child of God. God does not manufacture junk, and he does not sponsor flops.  Put on the whole armor of God; draw a line in the sand and say, “I’m not compromising another day.  The victory is going to be mine now, in the name of the Living God.”
