Filled With The Hope by Tammy Lang Jensen

When we fill ourselves with HOPE, we feel lighter and are able to rise above our circumstance.

Filled With The Hope by Tammy Lang Jensen
God showed me a balloon this morning. He asked me what happens when we fill the balloon with helium.

It begins to float upwards and can be carried even higher by strong winds. He said, HOPE is kind of like helium for the human soul. When we fill ourselves with HOPE, we feel lighter and are able to rise above our circumstance.

But those who HOPE in the Lord renew their strength. They will mount up on wings of Eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). Be strong and take heart, all you who HOPE in the Lord (Psalm 31:24). God offers us many things in the Bible, peace, provision, shelter, rainfall for our crops, families for the lonely, and to be with us forever. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13). If I speak in tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing (1 Corinthians 13:1-2). Do you place all your HOPE in the Lord, can you truly say you love your neighbor as yourself? Being a disciple of Christ is not an easy task. It will require sacrifice, to die to one’s self.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24). Then Jesus said to his disciples, if anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me (Matthew 16:24). Are you ready to go the way of the old rugged cross? I don’t know about you, but my self can be loud about it wants and desires. Are you able to silence the world around you.

It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord (Lamentations 3:26). Just be still and wait on God today. He will rescue you from any pit the enemy digs. There is a beautiful verse in Psalms that sums it up nicely. For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence for my HOPE is from him (Psalm 62:5)...
