2 Peter 3:10
The elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
If Your Investments Are Limited To This Earth, You Are The World’s Worst Investor
Money will either enslave you or it will empower you.
Some young people are getting married and saying, “I want this, and I want this, and I want this, and I want this, because my mom and dad have all this.” What you’re forgetting is that it took them 30 years to put all that together. Don’t get yourself so financially in hock over material possessions that you’re screaming at each other in six months, “How are we going to pay for all this?”
Your investments reflect your interests. The Bible says, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” What are you interested in? Let’s look at your checkbook and I can tell you exactly what you’re interested in.
House payment….... $1,000
Tithe………………… $10
Dog shampoo……….... $50
TV ministry…………..... $5
Your checkbook shows you think 10 times as much of your dog as you do preaching the gospel. That’s a reflection of your heart.
Someday, this old world is going up in smoke, and all your earthly investments with it.
But some of you are investing everything you have right here on earth. The only really safe place is in the kingdom of God.
