Becoming A Positive Digital Parent
Parenting is regarded as one of the hardest jobs known to couples. It is one that doesn’t provide room for quitting.

Parenting is ever changing, evolving with trends and era. With these changes that may occur over time, parents need to be ready to adapt and develop their parenting techniques. Today, many parents find it difficult doing their jobs as parents with increasing technological advancements every day.

In the digital era which we are in, many parents are having a “disconnect” with their kids; they either find their children drifting from them or have issues understanding how to communicate and build effective relationships with their kids. This problem is associated with the fact that some parents are unable to understand the lingo in this digital era.

Today, kids learn at a tender age to use mobile gadgets and the applications that come with it. In no time, they bond and are more connected to the internet and social media platforms than they are to their parents. Parents need to take an approach to this effect; they need to learn how to become a positive digital parent.

A positive digital parent is one who is ready to embrace technology and its application to build effective relationships with their kids. This way, technology is not seen as the enemy that causes a disconnection between parent and child; it is seen as a means a family can build a healthier relationship in the digital era. So, instead of an average parent that might demand passwords of social media accounts from their child, a positive digital parent enlightens them on the kinds on sites they can visit and how they can manage cyberbullying in case they ever faced such a situation.

When parents are able to do this, it brings a new level of trust and makes children trust their parents for every solution they could ever need. The best part of being a positive digital parent is that you need not be an IT expert or all tech savvy; all that is needed is a willing heart to learn and embrace technology as a way forward.
