I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice.
God is greater than the giant you are facing, greater than the burden you are carrying.
You don’t have to be in a stained-glass cathedral to communicate with God. Jonah cried out in the belly of a whale and God heard him. Elijah called out in a state of deep depression. Paul and Silas cried out in the middle of a jail cell and walked out with the keys in one hand and a convert in the other.
What’s the point? God heard each of them call from a desperate place. God is in charge here. The earth is the Lord’s and all those that dwell therein. Your sorrows have not escaped Him. He is not as interested in what you are going through as much as who you are running to. Are you giving God your problems? Are you asking Him for help? Our God is greater!
When you are down to nothing, God is up to something. You cannot sink deep enough that His love cannot find you and pluck you out of the blackest abyss. Do not believe the words of man; trust in God and know that He will hear you in your hour of greatest need.
