A Large Pile of Rocks by Tammy Lang Jensen
I was sitting on the ground this morning, there was a large pile of rocks in front of me. It was obvious I was trying to build something.

But every time I would stack the rocks just right, the wind would blow and they would come crashing down.

I had become very discouraged and weary with the building and nothing to show for it. I heard the Lord gently say, “I am the glue that holds everything together. Without me there is no foundation.”

Are you allowing the Lord to be your life preserver? The rain fell, the river rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it did not collapse, because it’s foundation was on the rock (Matthew 7:25). But more than the home having a sure foundation, the occupants hearts were stayed on Jesus. I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip-he who watches over you will not slumber (Psalm 121:1-3). We have this wonderful assurance that we cannot venture outside of God‘s protection.

That his eyes are always upon us, no matter where we lay our head; He will be with us. If I ascend to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there (Psalm 139:8). As I extended my trembling hand one more time to try and build with the pile of rubble. It is then I see the Lord’s hand coming down from heaven to help me. The Lord always shows up in the midnight hour. He is never late, but he is rarely early.

The Lord has an appointed moment for your breakthrough. Your job is to hang on until it gets here. He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority (Acts 1:7). We don’t know when that moment will arrive, for all that we are believing for. Our job is to simply trust God until the promise is achieved. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Are we waiting upon the Lord with expected hearts. Are we waiting with Grace and humility? Or has the spirit of the Israelites crept in with much grumbling and complaining. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord (Lamentations 3:25-26).

Even a fool appears wise if he keeps his mouth shut. So when you are pressed beyond your limits, zip it up until you have a good response. Speak life, and life you shall have....
