The winds have been turbulent and the storms have raged. And yet you have stood steadfast. Immovable an opportunistic as in searching for an opportunity to serve me. More of me, and less of you.
So covered in the blood of Jesus that only a shadow of the carnal man remains. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24). If anyone wishes to come after me he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me (Luke 9:23).
We all want to follow Jesus, until it starts to cost us something. Then we go down on weak and trembling knees begging for help. We don't like to be uncomfortable, to endure the pain of this world. We live in a world that is in a fallen state. We have to expect to bump into it from time to time. But what if these inconveniences are really divine appointments. Set up to strengthen us, to encourage those around us.
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world....Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor of (James 4:8&10). Just let God be God, be still and know that I am here. I will walk you through the hard places, and you will come out on top. And the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail; and thou shall be above only, and not beneath; if you will hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them (Deuteronomy 28:13).
The Lord will give you the land he promised to your ancestors. So keep your faith strong, your hope alive, and your prayers never ending. And let the Lord walk you through this human experience....
