The Steadfast of Mind by Tammy Lang Jensen
If a man who had not eaten for three days, found a clam with a gorgeous pearl in it. He would quickly cast the Pearl aside and gobble down the clam.
However, the patient wise man would have found a place to sell the pearl. Then he would have money for food and shelter for months. What blessings might we be passing up in our impatience.

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it (Romans 8:25). For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her (Proverbs 8:11). The steadfast of mind you will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in you (Isaiah 26:3). He stores up sound wisdom for the upright (Proverbs 2:7). Be steadfast and upright, let God be an anchor for your soul. So when the storms of life come crashing on your shore, you will be immovable, anchored to your source.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5). He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8). Be cautious of those carrying bitterness and strife in their heart. Don’t be at war with a gluttonous nation. But if you have bitter envy and strife in your hearts, glory not and lie not against the truth (James 3:14).

Purge your heart of all Unrighteousness and indignation. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice (Ephesians 4:31). I hear a call to peace, I hear a call to compassion. Judge not that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you (Matthew 7:1-2).

War not with your brother, make peace with your friends. So you will be found innocent, when all this ends....
