I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And will not sit with the wicked.
Psalm 26:5
Happiness Comes Through Death—Part Three
The first thing we will feel in eternity will be the hand of God the Father wiping every tear from our eyes!
We may die suddenly, without our families standing by, without our friends to comfort us. But none of us who are members of the family of God will ever die without our heavenly Father there to comfort us and welcome us into the land of absolute perfection He has created just for us.
As we arrive in the New Jerusalem, we will notice people arriving from the north, the south, the east and the west; from every nation, tribe and tongue on earth. We will see that each side of the foursquare city has three massive gates of solid pearl. On the gates are inscribed the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.
The foundation of the city has twelve layers of precious stones. As the gates swing open, we will see streets of pure gold. The city is dazzling, having no need of sun or moon or stars, for the glory of God will cause it to shine like ten thousand suns.
As the gates swing wide to welcome us, God the Father will present each of us with a white stone that has each one’s new name engraved on it. Just as God changed Abram to Abraham, and Jacob to Israel, so He will give us a new name that will reflect for all eternity the nature and character He had in mind when He created us.
