I clearly heard in my spirit this morning, “The walls of Jericho are crashing down!” Doors that have been closed to you in other seasons, or swinging wide in this one. Swing wide O you ancient gates. Set me on a warrior path, teach me the ancient ways Lord. Many are coming into the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near and he will soon arrive (Joel 3:14). There are echoes in the thunder, there are whispers on the wind. The whole earth quakes with the expectation of the Lords return.
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father (Matthew 24:36). God thunders marvelously with his voice, doing great things which we cannot comprehend (Job 37:5). God holds the keys to the kingdom, what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open (Revelation 3:7).
Quit kicking on the closed door, spin around, look around. A man always looking over his shoulder to the past, can rarely see the light shining in the future. Some things can only be discerned with spiritual eyes. Open their eyes that they may see Lord. And Elisha prayed, open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see. Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha(2 Kings 6:17). Are you discerning your help, do you feel your angel near. Perhaps there is an army waiting on a hill to run to your rescue. Maybe, just maybe, you can hear the snorting of the horses and the thunder of hooves on a hill. Walk like a king, talk like a queen. You have the most powerful force in the universe backing you up. Even from eternity I am he, and there is no one who can deliver out of my hand; I act and who can reverse it? (Isaiah 43:13). For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for his stretched out hand who can turn it back? (Isaiah 14:27).
Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder saying, hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns (Revelation 19:6). I cry out today O Lord, teach me the ways and paths of the ancient warrior. So that I may be victorious against the evil one. And Job answer the Lord and said, I know that you can do all things and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted (Job 42:1-2). You are my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms: (Jeremiah 51:20). Allow God to use you like a weapon of warfare, to tear down the kingdom of darkness.
Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliver, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me (Psalm 144:1-2). Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-11).
The running theme here is our strength is in God. The Bible calls him, a dread warrior that is with us. Keep your eyes on Jesus, in Him is your victory. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33)....
