Under A Curse by John Hagee
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death,
blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Your Family Could Be Living Under A Curse
Perhaps you think that sounds superstitious and positively medieval.  Believe me, curses are very real, and they have real power.

The reality is that there are specific curses:  the curse of God upon the ungodly, curses that are selfinflicted, curses that parents bring on their children, curses that follow a person, family or nation until they are supernaturally broken.

In Deuteronomy 30:19, Moses is giving his State of the Union address to Israel.  It is the last time he will speak to them.  And he makes the shocking statement to them that he has set before them death, blessing and cursing and they actually have the freedom to choose what they will.  He admonishes them to choose life that they and their seed may live!

According to scripture, blessing is brought through obedience.  A curse is brought by disobedience.  It is what you do in relationship to what God has said that determines your blessing or your curse.  In the text of Deuteronomy 30:19, there are only two Bible positions in which you can live:  under blessing or under a curse.  The choice is yours.

You have seen people who were controlled by a curse.  You probably didn’t call it a curse; you may have called it a jinx.  They are good people; people who are trying, but people who never reach their goal.  They have talent, they have ability, they do all the right things, they read all the right books, they join the right organizations, and yet success always eludes them.  Finally they say, “I guess I’m just jinxed.”

There is hope.  God has a remedy.  For whom the Son sets free is free indeed!
