Job 22:27
You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, and you will pay your vows.
We were created as free moral agents. This means that you were designed to make decisions (both good and bad) of your own volition. Yes, God has a perfect plan for us, and yes, we often royally blow it. But the good news is that God does not give up on us. His mercy endures to all generations.
He has given us the amazing gift of prayer, a tool we can use to reach Him at any time, night or day. The One who holds all power in heaven and on earth has promised to hear us when we pray--promised in His Word that what we bind on earth is bound in heaven, and what is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven. But God will not answer until we ask. The initiative lays with each of us...not God.
The Lord will not get involved in your life until you start asking for His help in prayer. Does He want your very best? Yes, He does. Does He already know what you need? Yes, He does. But He is waiting for you to surrender your need to Him. And there is no greater time than right now.
